my new venture is about 2 weeks old and i'm thinking of buying a link on a website in my niche. it has a pr of 4 and another of 5. they both have over 20000 indexed pages.

i'm trying to get a link exchange but i may have to pay. at the moment my site is about 250 in google.

will these links affect my site?

    All links are good.

The problem is building shit loads quickly. It needs to look natural if you do it fast with a mixture of it all such as social and links to your backlinks etc etc.

Buying a site wide link isn't an issue, it may not give you it's full juice until your site has been indexed for a bit longer that's all.

my site has been indexed and i have been using adwords already, haha.

my link will be placed in either the blog roll or friends sites section on the respective websites.
