I had a site that was getting about 3000 UV's a day until it was de-indexed by G00gle over 12 months ago. I was still getting a small amount of traffic from other sources (about 2% of the original) so I left it alone.

Just noticed today that it is back in the serps and is a PR1 (Used to be PR3 but has been N/A for the last year). Traffic is starting to increase again. It has 12000 pages indexed on G00gle.

I was under the impression that once you were de-indexed that was it. Have never heard of a site coming back from the dead before.

I haven't made any changes to the site at all since it was de-indexed.

Has this happened to anyone else?

A lot of strange stuff going on with Google the last week or so. It's too bad that no definitive answers can be found for anything since nobody really knows anything. It's all becoming a big crap shoot.

Good news... Maybe some of my properties that I still have registered domains for will resurrect also. I had a few descent PR sites in ALN about a year ago. Would be nice to get those back :)

Yeah. I have a couple of other sites that are still de-indexed. But at least now there is hope that they may come back as well.

I had a 250 site test network that had around 2/3rds of the sites de-indexed early 2011... Mainly because of gigantic levels of outbound linking (obvious link-farm). I wiped all the outbound links and sat on 'em...

Virtually ALL of them came back during the 1st 6 months of this year. Some disappeared after penguin due to obvious over-optimised anchor-profiles - but the others remain.

It's surprising how often deindexed sites come back after a year or so - especially if you've cleaned the site/content. De-indexed sites stay in Google's internal index - and they still spider them every now and then.
