Ok, I am getting my first blog ready and had a few qs about site structure:

I have seen a cpl different ways explained on how to silo properly.
My site will be product reviews site -lets assume its baseball product reviews - so i have different category/pages for each item (1. baseball gloves 2. baseball bats 3. baseball cleats, etc)

So i plan on writing the pillar article which is something like "top 10 baseball bats" and have a list of the 10 bats with a little bit of detail on each. And then i will write a more detailed review post/page on each bat i listed in my top 10.......and do the same for the baseball gloves, and cleats etc.

My 2 questions are:

1. Should i have all my 10 individual baseball bat articles linking UP to my top 10 bat reviews post? Or should i have the top 10 list linking DOWN to each indiv review? Or do i do both?

2. I set up my previous review site using 'Categories' for the Baseball Gloves/Baseball Bsts/Baseball cleats....etc
But i have seen some posts on here saying that these should be 'PAGES' , not categories..... is using PAGES a better choice? If so, why?

Thanks in advance

If your site is single niche, then interlink everything with everything and you will do just fine. All these strict silo rules are completely pointless with smaller niche sites.

1. Both
2. You are mixing categories, posts and pages here maybe?

yes, maybe i wrote it confusingly

what i did on my first blog, i had categories & posts for my website articles

I have read that it may be better to use pages & subpages for the articles.........maybe better for seo???

Doesn't matter. And ideally set categories and tags to noindex. Just structure your site properly, interlink everything and you will do well. Don't overthink it.
