    Hey guys,

Well I just got scammed big time out of one of my sites that was going to sell for around $5k if I was lucky.

I got an offer through DP of $4k which I decided to accept. The guy was reputable with around 100 itrader and shit so I trusted him. However it was actually some dick who had hacked the DP guys account.

I ended up giving domain and files 1st. Because I was the less reputable person. ( Yes I know fucked up of me )

Well anyway. He did a runner and now has my shit. Godaddy won't get involved. So I need your guys help.

I know his personal details found through whois. However they could be fake. But I do know his host. If anyone can give me a few tips to make him give me the domain back that would be great. As this is urgent. I have a few interested people on Flippa.

Heck I would even give $100 to the person who can help me get the domain back. ( Once the site sells )

Who the DP account is? how can they get hacked? You can use court. That should be enough to put him in jail. frauding 5k.

Damn, that's sucks to here man, sorry for your loss. The only thing I can think of right now is for you to ahead and scam him back using something similar to this:

Send him an email inquiring about the site and tell him you'd like to buy it (make a new email obviously, and tell him you found his details somewhere), send over the cash with PayPal, get the files + domain, and then chargeback.

Won't say who's DP account it was. As he's a good guy and don't want anything to happen to him....

I don't know how it got hacked. But it did.. Might of been phished or idk.

I don't really think I want to go to court. Laywer fees would cost to much. And he is in the USA and I am in NZ. Would be way too much hassle over $5k.

Are you sure that account got hacked and the person doesn't lie to you?
I think you could reverse the transfer of the domain. Not sure..

Yea you can tell by the english used between the 2. There are huge differences. Also the fact that the actual guy told me to cancel the sale.

Godaddy didn't want to get involved. This is what they said:

get a law-student/clerk to file a lawsuit for you. send him and his host certified subpoenas or name them both in the lawsuit. you can always drop it later... most people jump when they see a subpoena.

happened to me once and i quickly settled out-of-court...

Do you guys think using a fake mailer and make it look like that I am from the FBI or something would work? Sending him an email from there might scare him up.

I would not use fraudulent tactics to get back at a fraud, you have to come with your big guns, subpena Godaddy, they will re-think about what's going on and get involved giving you more information than they originally did. You'll be surprised how everybody starts to participate once the law is involved and their livelihood is at risk.

You need to act fast before he sells the site, OUCH!

    Do three things:

1)Contact the MOD's at DP to and tell them what happened.
2)Contact the person who stole your site and tell them you are going to sue them, and you are NOT kidding as you have a very professional company and high ranking friends.
3)Take him to court for fraud

There is no 3rd party agreement between yourself and the buyer? as the details and files were stolen by a hacker and not the interested buyer so go back to godaddy and give them shit?

Have they changed ownership of the domain to themselves? or do you still own it but can't get access?

He is in possession of the domain.

I have sent the guy a formal email explaining that if the domain is not transferred back to me within 8 hours. I will be contacting my lawyers and the FBI Cyber Crime department and filing a court case

    Same as #17

I tried to sue a large US bidding site once and got a settlement outside court without too much trouble. And needless to mention, I am not based in US.
Use the law to your advantage. If true, that is an expensive lesson.

Well short of a lawsuit, you might be out of luck. the fact is this. you transfered ownership via godaddy. For all they know YOU are the one trying to scam. so they wont just reverse that.

i would always do money first regardless of the itrader rank or whatever the case is. Even if its half up front, half after confirmation.

sorry this happened. but there is some glaring warning signs here.

    Lawyer up!
