I know this might depend on my keywords and the niche in general, I just find it odd as I have not had an issue like this before. Basically, I bought a domain for my first amazon niche, not exact match but it's perfect for the niche. I have been uploading HIGH quality, researched original content for the last month. I have about 11-12 articles up right now some of them 2k words plus. My issue is none of my articles are ANYWHERE in google. They are all indexed but they don't show for any of my 85 longtails in the first 300 positions (alot of them are low competition). I have briefly seen them appear in like the 200's after I made some changes and had google recrawl. But they immediately disappear again withing a few hours. I have never had a site so low right out of the box liek that. I usually at least see it within the 100's in the first day or two. I realized that the domain I bought was actually expired and was first purchased in 2009. The domain authority from moz is at a 6 right now. Is it possible my domain has some kind of penalty attached to it I can't see, or am I just being impatient and I need to give it more time? I know it's impossible to tell for certain, but I feel like in the sandbox right off the bat, not really fair considering i accidently bought an expired domain.

Have you optimized your on page seo? How have you also done the off page seo. These are very important in terms of google ranking.

    Give it some more time.
Google can sometimes be tricky you just got to wait for it to do its magic.

Yes I have them optimized to what I consider perfect. I am no stranger to writing for SEO. As far ass off page I havnt done much yet, made a few manual blog comments on some EDU blogs (very low OBL). Really wuality links, I'm having some web 2.0's manaully created for it right now.

    Just like me or not

my situation: I started a health niche site 2 month ago, all use expired domain contents, and now site with 0 traffic and nowhere to see the keywords, no SEO at all.

Where we are same at is the domain I bought, i checked it and it is actually first purchase by a company in 2009, but never been used if I am telling this right, web archive had nothing of it.

uymmm, maybe Google now is more smarter for a new site? I think just give it more time.

To be honest I think I was fucked before I even started. The domain I bought looks like it had just expired about 5-6 months ago had a pretty piss poor design. I never even thought to check the domain age or if had expired before. I really think all my hard work is down the drain because page 300+ for over a month is not normal. This expired site must have sucked ass and now im paying for it.

I had a similar experience with another expired domain. I did my best to check the domain before i bought it. Clean history, clean natural powerful backlinks profile. But for some reason the site will not rank over #100. Some reason google didn't like this domain. Did my best to optimise on-page and build new powerful links.

Yea I'm thinking of just transfering my content to a new domain. It's sucks because I have already spent so much time and money on this site :/

I had this problem too, for 1 domain. Get it from godaddy but I forgot to check if it was expired before. 3 month, 20 good articles, about 100 good product review page, indexed, nowhere on google and about 5 hits per day. Still waiting for google magic :)).

Thats my issue is I am not sure if I should continue with the domain or just switch to a new one before I waste any more time. 3 months is a ton of time to waste for me if it's never going to rank IMO

It looks like you need some off page SEO and you double check your on page seo.

Thanks. I honestly think it has more to do with the domain though. I checked the domains past content and it had a ton of article base duplicate crap on it for like 6 years. It only expired about 6 months ago.

    Hi OP

I even had same problem. I have a site 5 months old frequently adding articles now 40+, did on site and off site SEO also no luck till now. The domain expired few months back and i did't checked and bought the domain and build the site.

Have you added your site to GWT? Do you receive any impressions?

Which tools you are using to to check the position?

This is extremely frustrating that google is punishing people that buy a domain good faith, and build great content on it. I had no idea to check the domain for expirations and now I am going to pay for it. have added my site to webmaster tools both versions. I have recieved about 1k impression over the course of the month and even made 1 amazon sale. The is only due to me png on twitter and other places. I use https://www.serplab.co.uk to check positions. Great free tool and use it for a few sites. I think I will just wait another month and then transfer content to a new domain. This is severely discouraging and I have learned my lesson about paying for other peoples crappy sites.

I'm new in IM. I was build about 7 site like this one for testing purpose, with same number good readable article, onsite SEO only. Other site working normal. Only this one have problem. I'll grab new domain for this one soon.

Only ~100 impressions per days for site with problem domain. Good CTR, but no rank.
