I have a question about content lockers being placed on sites and the effects it has on the site being show on Google's search engine. A while back I had a couple sites that had small niche traffic from Google I then placed content lockers on them, on the entire site, so that when someone visited the site the locker would immediately display. And once i did this i noticed that both the sites vanished from Google search engines. So is it common for sites with content lockers locking the entire site to be removed from Google? And if so would sites with content lockers that dont lock the entire site still be displayed in the search engine? Like if I lock only a specific page, or better yet if I have it so when someone clicks anything it only then comes up or clicks a specific button? Would those sites still be displayed on Google being they are technically open until a specific actions?

PM me an example page. The locker shouldn't cause that issue.

Yes when you place a CL your site is 99.9% fucked out soon, just cloak if you want.
Remove the CL and the site most times will be back in SERP in the days.
If you lock a page then that page will be out, not the full site.

Same experience with me. Placed a CL on a 5 year old site with 80,000 pages and 2 days later the site was deindexed. I removed the CL and it's been about a year and the site is still deindexed.

It might cause if the content locker pops up when you load the website.I usually give them a 30 seconds delay before I lock the page.

I have had a content locker on my site for 2 years and it's on the front page.

I usually set the lockers to pop out onclick and have never experienced any problems even on a blogger blog.

If google cannot access your content it will be deindexed. It's simple.

yeah this is what i have always suspected, so if i have a delayed CL on the site say even 5-6 seconds would that keep me in Google likely? or if i have one that only pops on click i should totally be good with that right?

Google has started indexing javascript as well in order to understand UI better.I have been using onclick to activate locker for a year. Its working fine.

Even if you do delay it, google still sees it.

Best way to do it imo, if you want the locker on the whole website(That'll give you shit conversions), is to set it to pop up on clicking the body/content div tag.
