I have a couple hundreds websites up, and just found out one was hacked. Is there any services that will check to see if a) site is up and b) if site is hacked or changed?
How many different servers are your sites on? Most monitoring services will charge either per host, or per server. If you have your sites all over the show, it gets incredibly expensive.
A cheap solution would be to have a webpage that loads all of your websites in small 200x200 iframes so you can quickly see if they're all online.
Nagios is open source monitoring service. You can monitor unlimited number of domains to unlimited number of servers and their processes also. There are hundreds of custom components available if you need specific feature. Mostly used by large corporations. nagios.org
Thanks for the replies. They are on about 50 different servers. My main concern is not if they are up, but what if someone hacks them, has a page up for months, I wouldn't know. Even something a little slower would work, like checked once or twice a week. Maybe I'll just pay someone.
I can offer complete uptime monitoring using Nagios, which many of my clients use already to monitor their sites. As for monitoring the sites against hacking attempts, I'm sure I can figure something out for you. This is not something that can be accomplished easily, if your site content changes on a daily basis. Drop me a pm if you want to know more.
For the most part they are just static pages, if anything, they'll change once or twice a year. Actually, I will be adding outgoing links to them here and there, so I guess it will change once and a while.
