Site Flipping - All Main Questions Answered! [FAQ]

Very informative. Thanks given and also some reputation. Though I don't think you need it. :) I've never had experience in site-flipping but I'm thinking of trying it. Seems like an excellent way to make a buck. Will be reading more of your posts to find out more. Most of the BHing i've done is with Facebook and Social Media. Thanks again for the very informative post.

No worries. Glad to see that my thread that's over a year old is still getting traction! I went through the thread to make sure everything is still relevant and sure enough, it still is and those very same questions are still being asked on ongoing basis.

Thanks for this, I also noticed that some hosts won't allow you to sell your domain as they technically still 'own it' and you only rent it. So you have to be careful with the cheaper domain hosts.

This is semi-accurate but not all the way.

No reputable registrar "owns" any of their clients' domain names. Many registrars (including some large ones) do impose restrictions on transfers, though. The most popular of these is GoDaddy's 60-day restriction, meaning that if you've bought or received a domain name then you're unable to transfer it outside of GoDaddy within 60 days.

The "outside of GoDaddy" part is important, though. To my knowledge, no registrar restricts transfers within that same registrar, meaning that if both the sender and the receiver of the domain are with the same registrar, there are no restrictions.

is flippa dead now. i used to make good money with them before that starting changing everything.

There are several threads listing different places to sell sites at, but the main ones are:
- Webmaster forums, such as DP, WF, etc. (good for lower end sites) and domain forums (good for domain listings)

Thanks for the post. Would any one be able to expand on the acronyms DP and WF?
