Back in February, I had gotten a site to the number 3 spot on Google for a keyword with 1.8 million results. It dropped to page 3 on Thursday February 24, the day that the Google Panda update occurred. Not sure if that's a coincidence, or if it was just a Google dance, but regardless, it dropped

Up until that point, I had relied heavily on Scrapebox mass posting, but after the site dropped I started focusing much more on PR2-4 links with less spammy comments. I also used Extrawinner's sandbox/penalty rescue service, and did one 9,000 link Xrumer blast. Within about 6 weeks, I got back to the number 4 spot, and ultimately the number 2 spot. Life was good :)

Then today (another Thursday) I noticed my site is back down on page 3

I have not heard of people being the victim of a second Google dance. Is this possible? Or could it be because I have done very little link building since getting to the #2 spot?

Help me out please, cuz I'm kinda freakin' out

how old is your page? if it is a new page its normal that it drops and comes back up a few times. Google is allways changing and it allways will be. Take your time and don't create to much backlinks in a short periode of time because it also possible that you'll get removed for a couple of weeks form the search results. Thats the last thing you want. Make sure you have link diversity so when Google changes something the effect on your page can be small. If you really want to do something with your page, adding content is allways a good thing.

If you are doing xrummer and scrapebox frequently then you may get this kind of results..

I sincerly suggest you not to do huge bulk link building using those softwares..

Just take it slowly and a bit naturally. You'll get your throne back again.

I too have been bouncing all over the place for about the last 6 weeks. It appears they are making some changes again but hopefully it will stabilize soon.

Here's the thing: of those 9000 Xrumer links, only 341 of them actually got indexed by Google

Is that enough to make a substantial difference, both in the "re-rise" of the site as well as the fall?

I had a site dance for over 18 months. Kept building backlinks until it reached over 250,000. It hasn't danced in over 7 months, so hopefully after it reached 2yrs old, and enough backlinks, it won't dance again. ;)
