This is an extreme example, but time to time I see a site that is not related to my keyword that I'm searching appears high up on Google, how do they do it?

Let's say my website is about CORN, and I want to rank high up (like #1-3 on google) for the word, "Barbies", how in the world do I do that? I mean... You can't write ANYTHING about "Barbies" on your corn website, so then how do you SEO it?

You could keep bumping the thread, but if 40 reads later you have not had any response, then try asking a different question.

It's the usual. Content, meta tags, and backlinks. I could write volumes about corn on a Barbie site. Just get creative.

Barbie went to a farm and saw corn
    Barbie playing in corn fields
Barbie likes cooking corn at BBQs
    Barbie's corn recipies
Barbie laying off corn sugar in her new diet
    Barbie corn rowed her hair
Barbie and Ken growing corn in their backyard

Each post can have a background post giving more info on corn. What corn is. The varieties. Where it is grown. Current research on corn ...

    I could go on
*grrr... just realised I posted on writing about corn on a Barbie site and not the other way around, but hope you get the picture.

    Still not sure.
I clearly stated that those people rank on those keywords without a SINGLE word in there content about that keyword.

Site about CORN, ranking high for BARBIES. With out the word "BARBIES" on there site.

Corn... and Barbies. There's something just so wrong about that combination.

provide a few examples of this sort of thing and maybe you'll get a better response.
