I've got this site, which is essentially a content hub.

The homepage etc... aren't very important.

Everyday, tens of thousands of blogs get posted, across a wide range of topics and different languages. It's full of unique, in depth personal content (with images).

So the site ranks across tens of thousands of keywords at least.

Was wondering how much you would be willing to pay a month for adspace?

I would place each of your ads on the page on which the posts are placed. Either within the post, below it or on the side of the page.

This means your ad would be visible on every single page on the site. And for every single impression on that site.

Impression range from about 13k/week to 30k+/week.

Just to add: I would literally accept any advert that isn't strictly illegal stuff like child porn, murder etc... The rest is fine

Depends on niche and where they are from. If they are from Africa. I wouldnt pay much. If they are from us I would pay more. Also depends on the niche.

According to webmasters tools, most of the views are from United States and UK. Which makes sense since most of the blogs center around US/UK topics.

Not sure how to describe the site, but it's not so much niche based.

It's essentially a content farm with HQ content, covering a vast range of keywords. So it covers a bunch of niches.

From memes, to life topics to christian pastors, to bitcoin.

So your ad would be visible across all those niches.

Try to find A fairly accurate list of the keywords that site ranks for, estimate total traffic from each by avg position, multiply that by your avg ctr on ads (use 2% if you dont know), and multiply that by the avg cpc bid on a per keyword basis. Add those up, get the monthly est for what that site is worth, from an advertising standpoint.

With that number, which is by ALL means just a rough technical estimate, consider how many advertisers youd need to get at what rate per click/per impression to compete with what you could be getting from adsense.

Personally, id view direct advertising as being waay more attractive than adsense, as it would be predictible. Just remember, you need to make the prospect of advertising on your site attractive to marketers.

Semrush provides great estimate reports for most of that data btw.

no advertiser will advertise on your site with 100k pageviews per month. let's get real, hardly advertisers do direct advertising on 10+MLN. 99% of advertisers use networks as they're scalable.
You have three options:
slam a dating ad
use a native content network like Outbrain or Revcontent.

My est. is you'll make between 100 and 500$ per month with that site given the traffic is organic, real and engaged.

You would be well served by seeing what sites like buysiteads and buysellads have for ad pricing for that sort of site.

Being that the ads would be shown to people who are not actually looking for your products (untargeted traffic) though, I'd be surprised if there was much value in that at all.

Thanks for the advice.

Regarding the latter point, how does that make sense when people place ads on generic news sites?

The content is diverse, and attracts a wide range of people.

Also, would you say train advertising is targeted? - Or simply taking advantage of people sitting down staring at the ad for up to 1-2 hours a day.

Generic news sites don't offer generic ads. Typically they are regional or local.

I am a bit of a news hound and visit news sites from many different areas and I get regional ads when I go there.

You may do OK with something like adsense where the ads would be specific to the page content as opposed to selling ad space as that would target your audience better.
