My main keyword seems to have vanished from the Serp's. It was ranking well and rising one day it just disappeared. I checked WMT for any penalties and all other page and keyword rankings are doing well.
    Its been about 2 weeks.

    anyone know what happened here?

Did you send any spammy links to the page? Since you have waited for 2 weeks and it has not re-appear. There is nothing to advice about waiting for it to appear.

I will be watching this thread for more educative answers.

Did you build additional links? - if so what links
Did you change on page at all?
    How old is your site?

How long was the website ranking before it dropped? There's a big difference between it being on the first page for a week versus it being there for years and then disappearing.

It could be either the links that you built to that page before or you updated your content.

Google is constantly tweaking their ranking algorithm and making updates to improve the user experience of searching. The changes to the algorithm can change how Google sees your site and this constant tweaking will cause your rankings to fluctuate. Also, everyone else who is ranking above you is also working to improve their sites and get Google to rank them higher, so positive (or negative) changes on your competitors sites can also cause your rankings to fluctuate when Google picks up on their changes and ranks them higher or lower than your site.

how will anyone help you without details? Content on page, on page seo, backlinks, blah blah. I think you changes something on your website and google updated the ranks. Wait for maybe - weeks.
