Single? Lawn Signs Make Big Money

I think us blackhatters could make something like that nationwide.. you charge an affiliate monthly fee for the domain name (a satellite affiliate I know does this) and give them a % of sales, and then sell them the yard signs as well as bumper stickers, etc with their dating domain. you profit on domains, you profit on supplies, and dating members

I've seen those yard signs around town here. I thought for sure the guy was just redirecting to a well-known affiliate site and racking up commissions, but apparently it was a custom-coded site. Not sure if he's missing out or not...

The question is, where do we order these signs :D

Haven't read it all but the beginning is good.

How hard would would it be to create your own "your city name" singles.com, promote it guerilla offline style and maintain, charging members and what now? Seems like its a lot to handle, but I guess you would get more mula in the long run vs. Just redirecting those domains via your aff url to bigg dating sites (match.com) and getting per lead, non recuring per person you get to sign up.

I think that's the way to go, Clix.

I know the guy that owns the local "Signs by Tomorrow" here AND the guy that owns the local "Minuteman Press".

Probably just need to buy the domain name and then redirect it to your dating offer.

Obviously, those signs work.

we should close this thread too much power for the masses to handle

I've seen these signs in a few towns also. Out of curiosity I did visit one of the sites and filled out the form (with fake information) and then was re-directed to their site to sign up. I thought it was an affiliate site myself, I didn't go investigating any more after that. People have been doing this idea for years. I've seen tons of these signs for making money at home, weight loss, furniture, etc...

They sell those signs at most print shops. I've seen them for about $1.50 each. I even saw a sign that sold these signs.

What a brilliant article. affiliate marketing as a "who done it" thriller. $81,000 dollars worth of domains, & 9,000 lawn signs. crazy

yeh ive seen a few of these myself over here in uk. mainly on motorways. big advertising boards on a pick up truck in a farmers field.. and when i seen them. my first thoguht was dating offers haha.

one thing though. can we get in trouble for sign spamming?

I live in Australia and have never seen anythign like it, oh have to run now, something urgent just came up.

Well, if all you're doing is pointing it to an affiliate offer, you just get an offshore domain name and host.

Even so, like he said in the article, I think, worst case, they just come along and take down your sign.

Scientology got in trouble in australia for sign spamming and the video sign is still there 10yrs later

Well it works for the real estate market, why would it not work for cpa marketing! Thanks for the read Monty!

Yup. In fact, the other day I saw one for a work-from-home type company or offer.

I think it was something like WantNoJob.com. I'm telling you...people are beginning to realize what kind of potential the internet holds.

On my way home from class today I saw two different signs that said, "Get Your Sign Printed: $50/100 minimum" or something very close. I was sitting at a red light and the only thing that ran across my mind was the political signs, but now that someone mentioned the dating sites, I have seen those exact signs in my city. Pretty crazy.

Way too much work. Also people take them off. I know someone who had great success with sticking flyers on people's cars...

i hope no new zealanders find this thread. NZ IS MY NICHE D:

im goin globetrottin next year, maybe i can make a 'where the hell is matt?' spin off where im planting ads everywhere. Move over cookie stuffing, im ad stuffing the globe.

I live on 5 acres, maybe mow the grass so its a url? we get our airforce flying over nearly everday, maybe should get the airforce niche, pity theres only 2000 people in our airforce, thats less than my old high school lol

Hi all!

A re-hash of this idea is popping up again. Maybe we could combine the two threads?

Code:

Thanks given to MontyzPython for the original idea. :)

(Actually, how many different niches could this be applied to?? I guess the only limit is the affiliate and its payout.)

Hi all!

To make it a little easier, I copied the blog entry to a doc file. This is just in case the blogger decides to take it down or something. Here it is: :)

Code:
http://www.mediafire.com/?gniw5mzlxmm

When this method shows up on DP as a $500 e-book, would someone PLEASE post this link?? :D

I read the entire thing. That's pretty amazing that such unprofessional lawn signs can go so far.
