So, as you may or may not know...I'm a big fan of Manual SEO (And BlackHat SEO) and though there are many Black Hat techniques that I fully support including SEO Auto. Tools when used properly, there are some things that I just prefer to do myself and not because it's the most absolute correct way but just because it's what has given me the best results. KeyWord research is a very important step in having a successful site and just wanted to post how I personally generate my KeyWords. I know I know, many of you may classify this as newbish but I guess you could say this is for newcomers who aren't sure where to start. So, this is what I do:

Step 1
- Use the Google KeyWord Tool and type in the KeyWords I'm wanting to target. Then on the left hand side, uncheck the "Broad" box and Check "Exact". Then hit "Search". By doing so, you will see how many times each KeyWord is exactly searched per month which will give you a better idea as to how much traffic you can receive from that particular KeyWord.

Step 2 - Once you've pulled up your desired list of KeyWords, on the top right go to "Columns" and uncheck "Competition", "Global Monthly Searches" & "Local Monthly Searches" and hit "Apply". You should now only have your list of KeyWords displaying.

Step 3 - Copy the entire list of KeyWords and paste them into a NotePad Document. Go back and click on to page 2 and do the same thing. Go to NotePad and hit CTRL+H. In the first box put in a open bracket like this "[" without the quotes and then click on the second box and then select "Replace All". Do this one more time only this time with a closing bracket like this "]". Now copy all of your KeyWords as there should now be no brackets.

Step 4 - Go to GoDaddy (Or your registrar) and do a Bulk Domain Search. GoDaddy lets you search up to 500 at a time so just paste all of your KeyWords into the Bulk Domain Search box and you'll see all of the available Domain Names & EMD's (Exact Match Domains) for those particular KeyWords. :)

Step 5 - Make some $!

This is great for those just starting out or for those looking for an effective way to do KeyWord Research who cannot afford to purchase software to do the research for them. Well that's all for the moment. I just figured I would write this up in hopes that it will help someone. I know I wish that I would've had this when I first started a few years back and hope this well help someone that's starting out as well or someone who's working on a limited budget. Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Your title is misleading. You are not doing any keyword research. You are just trying to find out EMDs related to your keywords.

Or have I got anything wrong?

Well technically you're doing both. You're doing KeyWord Research and Domain Name research all in one.

I agree with you.

No offense DirectSEO but the thread should be "How to manually find EMD". There is more to "keyword research tips" than merely what you shared. In fact, use the search button here in BHW and you'll find amazing tips already shared along with what you just did in the OP.

I understand that completely and know that. The purpose of this post was to help educate new comers who had no clue where to start with find good keywords or domains. I apologize if this was misrepresented or even possibly "Titled" wrong and appreciate your input/thoughts.

And that's precisely why I offered my critique so that newcomers should get the most accurate information(s) rather than misleading one(s).
