Obviously, this strategy is not for Pinterest experts because I'm sure you know this already. I'm a newbie myself and I just discovered a good strategy to gain repins and followers the white hat way.

Note: To the experts, please don't hate. This strategy is for beginners.

    1. Browse your Facebook timeline for viral photos. Every single day, it seems that there is one photo that's shared by thousands of people. Today, a lot of my friends were sharing this photo of a huge dog hugging its owner, looking a little worried because they're at the vet.
    2. Google for a post that has that exact same picture. I think I Googled for "big dog worried at the vet".
    3. Pin the picture. I don't really care if it's not from my blog. At this point, I'm just looking for followers. I'm not looking for traffic yet. I'll take advantage of the new followers later on to gain traffic for my blog.

After a few minutes, the pin got 47 repins and 15 likes. Well, waddya know? I got 23 new followers. Scale this up and you can easily get 100 legit followers.

If you want to take advantage of the traffic, you can put up a short blog post and add the image there. This way, you get the traffic to your site as well.

thanks for the share, but form what I have seen the viral images on FB are from pinterest, so why not just scrape the ones already there?

The pictures that I've been seeing are shared by FB users using their profiles, not Pinterest.

I've seen lots of memes on Pin. Maybe find some obscure memes and pin them and share them?is it quickmeme.com?

Or if you have the TinEye extension for Firefox, just right-click it to search for instances of that picture online.
