Simple way to create a video landing page?

I saw the tweet attacks landing page video and it looks SWEET to say the least. It looks like it is being sold here but I want a program that I can create some simple graphics and such like this (his landing page as a video) which you can see in his thread. I don't think I can post a link on here just because of my low post count, but if you head to his bst thread and click on the website you will see it. I know there is like adobe after effects and stuff like that, but I think that is too complicated for what I want to do. Any suggestions?

Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Ok what about windows movie maker? That may not be powerful enough :/ Coding is more of my specialty and not this graphic stuff.
