There are a lot of threads posted asking the same question - how to make money - how to increase money - etc.

Keeping this short and sweet. Hopefully some people try this - it works. Simple as that.

The number one reason that people are not successful and do not make money is because: they are lazy, they do not follow through, and they lack motivation.

It is as simple as that. That is the NUMBER ONE reason.

Not everyone is born with that killer entrepreneur spirit and fire.

A simple way to kick the laziness, hold you accountable and get you motivated is to team up with someone and push each other until you succeed. This person needs to be someone who is already successful or wants it just as bad as you.

You will want to set up daily communication with them. Multiple times a day. You are going to hold each other accountable - and push each other until you both make it and reach your goals.

    EXAMPLES:

    6am

(Yeah, that isn't a typo - start your day early. No excuses. Even if you are out until 4am partying you still get up at 6am every day. Not Monday - Friday. Every freaking day.)

This can be early morning coffee or gym session if you are in the same city, or morning text messages or phone calls. Discuss what your goals are for the day, what you have going on and HOW you are going to accomplish everything. Many times simply discussing your plan for the day helps you to visualize the outcome - which turns into follow through and results. Now, time to get to work.

    12pm

This is the mid day check in. This can be a text, a phone call or even a lunch meeting. Talk about what you accomplished already, whether it is successful so far or if if did no go to plan. If everything is good, discuss the rest of your plan for the day and how you will accomplish it. If you hit some roadblocks discuss them and see if there are any suggestions brought up to help avoid that in the future, and then also discuss how you will rebound and turn the day into a successful one. Remember it is not even half over. Plenty of time left. This is your mid day pep talk and in the event that you are feeling discouraged it will get you firing on all cylinders again.

    7pm - 11pm

This depends on how hard you go at it. Some days I am done by 7 because I want to unwind and recharge, but then there are some days that I work until 4am. If you want a "fixed" schedule then go get a 9 - 5 because you will never make it - you need to be willing to work your ass off. Again, this can be a phone call, a text, drinks, dinner, etc. Discuss each others day and the pluses and negatives. Then discuss tomorrows goal. Verbally lay out your plan of action and visualize it. Talking things out helps so much and when you have someone who wants it just as bad as you do - and you both hold each other accountable then you WILL NOT fail!

Now, get some rest and repeat.

Give it a try. I promise you that when you have someone to constantly talk out success, failure, goals, etc - you have a much better chance at accomplishing those goals. There is no slacking, no laziness, and no lack of motivation.

I have a few friends that I do this with. Here is an example of a text I received the other morning. Think he is pumped up to crush the day?????...

LOL... I had to read the first line of that text message twice to decode it. He's got two "what" in his bed?? Ahhh...male lingo.

Having an accountability partner is almost always suggested by other successful entrepreneurs. However, not everyone qualifies for that role. The most important piece is what you mention here ...
I've tried this a few times and will admit that I picked poorly. It starts off in high gear but fizzles out quickly. In each case, I'm able to identify the issues, so moving forward I can find a better match.

    Thanks for the reminder.

Yeah, finding someone successful is good always...but someone just as determined is sometimes better - as you can both experience the highs and lows together and learn form each other.

    Alright, great thread OP.

In fact, I'm going to take this opportunity and let anyone know that if they're looking for an accountability partner, I'm offering to be one (in exchange for you being mine).

Had successes in the past, nothing too wild, but the #1 reason, like OP said, is because I don't have peers who are in it as much as I am (that's a convenient way to say "I'm lazy" lol, but really, productivity is infectious)

GMT +2, so anyone who is in a similar timezone would be good (for synchronicity, so that I don't message you when you're going to sleep and vice versa). I'll do a Skype chat to see if we're a good fit and from then on we'll set up a schedule of notifications.

No outing of niches will happen, you will have to have a plan and stick to it, we'll go through it together. For the record, my areas of interest are products and copywriting, I'm learning some BH SEO right now for some side action and paid traffic is on the horizon.

Think you're up to it? Give me a PM. Let's do this!

OP is on point, many people simply cannot follow through with their work or can't visualize themselves as successful so their efforts are lackluster at best.

Also I think the difference between 5000 a month off one blog and 200 bucks is simple research, i could imagine some people aim low in fears of not succeeding big.

Exactly, aim high and you will get there. Aim low and you will get there also...

    Huh?

    Very true

Haha he sure is - he treats every situation like sales - a numbers game. He will hit on every hot girl in sight - and eventually closes the deal(s) lol

I think a lot of us work on the internet to get away from a regime
and most of us put in a lot more than a 40 hour week
But eery one to their own method

A 20 hour workday sounds like an easier proposition to me than trying to get a pair of supermodels off !

Jokes aside Netmoney on the money again. The most important part of working stupid hours is you are working for yourself and your family so its not work ? If you think you can switch the phone off when you feel stressed or take a few days off when you really shouldnt then forget about, your not cut out to be an entrepreneur. I go from births and burials straight to work. My main customer base presently is Japan/Australasia. That means apart from working long hours I also automatically wake up at 4am every morning to check emails. If something good has popped up then Im on it, If something bad has happened then I have time to get organised.

Oh and persistence. Not sure if they teach you the true meaning of persistence in college. You only really learn it from kids. They will just keep on asking you until you say yes...there is no compromise. Treat all leads as gold and never give up on them. Reach out and be available to your customers all the time. If you havent bought anything from me in two years you will still get sent updates and product info along with a personal note. Sell to a customer once and you should be able to sell to them for life.

Where does it say anything about 40 hours? I wouldn't call this a regime...if anything it is away to get off the computer and socialize as well...

    You got that right

    Spot on!
