Hello and thank you for any and all responses. I am about to begin creating my own payday site. However, before I can begin I wanted to ask a question for SEO purposes. Should I buy an aged payday domain or just start my own? If I should buy an aged one, how old does it have to be? What are the benefits? I was told through simple seo work my site wont start gaining traction for a year. Therefore, will buying an aged site mitigate the year timeline or just help a little over the same amount of time? Again, thank you for any answers.

careful when buying a payday aged domain, most of them are spammed till they get deindexed penalized or sandboxed. So be sure to check every information on it.

I agree with mrgoe, this market you will definitely have competitors chuck thousands of spammy links all with same anchor so your site will get penalized pretty quickly.

I've noticed though with the recent update that only aged domains appear to be ranking well since the payday algo update (uk search). So I think it will be tricky to rank even with Blackhat with a new domain.

If the cost of a domain with age/history isn't too much it might be worth trying

There's no reason why you can't rank a new domain in a few weeks with a clever and careful campaign. Aged domains tend to hold rank better, but if the site has been previously de-indexed, you might have a problem.

See this post on how to check aged domains before purchasing:

Thanks for your replies. But wouldn't the only concern be, determining if they were de-indexed, penalized or sandboxed? If I can see if those things didn't happen, then wouldn't a moderate price be warranted? Also, how much of an advantage would I get over a new domain? I have heard it can take months for a new payday site due to the new changes.
