Just a quick question, i cant seem to find a definitive answer on the web or here.

Im going through posts on my site now, linking back to the homepage from each one, after 4 or 5 i started to wonder if its a bad idea to insert the link in the first paragraph on every post.

    What do you do?

I only have about 25 posts. Should i mix it up and place the link in the 2nd/3rd/last paragraph of the posts?

Its a noob question yes but i never really bothered with siloing until now.

    Cheers

You must think about Your 1st link to the home page. Mix anchors as you wish, Google don't care about multiples anchors to the home page on a same page. Generaly, it's the link on your logos header.

    The best advice: be natural.

When using the silo structure, I usually don't link back to the homepage. Instead, I'll have every article link to my product reviews category. I place the link at the very bottom of the page. I don't really expect anyone to click it; it's more there for SEO purposes. When I'm linking my product reviews, I always link the products back to their respective product category page.

you have to see the format of most articles from websites on page 1 of google, and synthesize how they link and the user-friendly flow for reading

silo-structure needs social media added to the mix, if you just go pure backlinks -it no longer becomes an organic profile, also, make sure your content is not crap at all, the stuff you reference or link has to be awestruck or totally new and interesting, if you spin or make a bunch of sentences that aren't concise then you will see why it ranks in the graveyard pages
