    Hi All,

I am from India and was just about to jump on to the bandwagon of e-whoring. One of my friends warned me yest that it is illegal to promote adult sites or even link to them in India - is it true ? coz i'm sure I've noticed quite a few over here are from India and do it ? What's with cyber police and all catching us ? i mean most of the cpa networks pay my check and u need to give your address there - so if it's really illegal, we can be caught ?
Just confused so thought will check with ya all !

    Cheers,
    Jo

    LOL

Basically the person needs to file a complaint against the company in which you advertise with. That company will take the complaint to whatever extent they need to do; however I really doubt that they will contact Indian's cyber crime unit and tell them there's a Mr. Singh on IP: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX promoting adult sites via MSN/ICQ/Yahoo to a person in the US. Furthermore the Indian police need to get a court order from a judge to subpoena your ISP and go from that door on to sending a letter to you....
    .....you see the process?
The worst thing that can happen is that the CPA company will boot you off their network. Although I highly doubt that will happen.

IF you want to stay on the safe side....promote adult dating. Not ADULT SITES (fucking, sucking and doing what adults do)

    Good luck

Your friend is totally wrong. There is an internet law on porn; however, if you view porn at home this law doesn't apply. If you expose this to friends/others they MAY complain about you to the police and then it'll be a whole different scenario.

So keep it for yourself and happy e-whoring.

If your friend is sitting in YOUR ROOM and you start showing him PORN then that's ILLEGAL.

I believe you need to read up on that.

Currently india doesn't have a spam law, but once you start emailing AFFILIATE links in SPAM emails you may just get fuked since the porn company MAY NOT like this form of advertisement method.

I'm interested in becoming an adult affiliate too (I'm from India as well). I did some searching and this is what I found:
    Code:
    [URL]http://www.cyberpolicebangalore.nic.in/ch11_67.htm[/URL]
    and
    Code:
    [URL]http://www.cyberpolicebangalore.nic.in/cybercrimes.htm#cyberprono[/URL]
Also found an ancient thread on the subject:
    Code:
    [URL]http://www.webhostingtalk.com/archive/index.php/t-280634.html[/URL]
Bottom line is: It is illegal, but no one's going to catch you. If someone does catch you, you're in for it.

I'm more interested in declaring income through adult affiliates in my Income Tax - is this safe? Is there any chance of being caught during a random tax audit or something?
