    Hi everyone,

A few days ago I experienced the scariest moment of my life. My site which was ranking the first position for 10 most important keywords just went to rank 80 and 35. My whole site is dropped. My own brand name comes at position of 6. I have been slowly building links for the past 6 months and everything was just fine. 3 weeks ago I ordered 800 facebook shares for my naked url only. What could be the problem? Also I changed my http to https 4 weeks ago after which I saw improvement in all keyword rankings. There is one thing:
when I ordered https I installed it on the subdomain because my main site is on the subdomain. Since I use Directadmin panel I had to create seperate add on domain for the subdomain and copied the site from subdomain folder to the addon domain which is actually that subdomain and both site data are on the host. Could that cause duplicate content problem? My site is full of original and good content and I really deserve to be 1st position.
P.S: There is no message in Webmastertool for penalty of any kind. What is the problem? Thank you very much.

P.S.1: When I moved to https I 301 redirected only the important page which were receiving traffic.(7 out of 210)

PS.2: In webmaster tools the number indexed pages for my https version is 0 for 30 days now.

Why on earth did you only move 7 of 210 pages over? Sounds to me like you kind of realize what you did wrong, something obviously went wrong when you switched to HTTPS. I've never done a switch on a site that's a subdomain, however. And I'm not sure about the tools you used. But it sounds like you may have skipped a few steps. You on WordPress?

I guess you messed up with the movement from http to https. If I were you, i would switch back to HTTP and see if the traffic returns. Could be G's bot are finding it difficult to access your website.

You will still reap the benefits of all your hard work although it may seem like you lost PR. View it as if the tide has risen. Then add more ranking using information from: http://onlinefanatic.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Dream-Niches.pdf
also create a video or two post on youtube and pinterest then have a fiverr video submission to all the video sites.

It a fact google even advertised that protity to serp postion was going to those with https domains so it no one fort ..

Just go back to http and dont worrie about the https info from google.

Tried and tested no serp improvement on https yet but is a seo upgrade theory ...

Same as youtube live events, but it a working theory, google seems to be slow at there statements , everybody will be ssl / https eventually fact.

Wait few more weeks, it will go back if you set all links and redirects properly.

But why people change the winning team? It is beyond me

check to see if you have any 404 errors because of your http to https migration. you might not have made the correct setup in apache or what every server config you are using. check in your webmaster tool for 404 errors

also, do a site:YOURDOMAIN and see if any of the http pages are still laying around and if they return 404 errors. I think that could be the culprit

if the things not going right, revert back to http, you may still get back your previous position in ranking

    How old is that article?

    It says:

Google is in love with 2.0 and high PR
comment links from big blogs. These are some
of our core links to get
    ting
    a fast index and ranking.

This. I have one local client change their website to https without consulting me and the website tanked, i asked them why and they didn't gave me an honest answer. Seems like they fell to the hype back when everyone changing to https.

The website itself manage to get some of the keywords back, but never fully recover. Used to get 2K almost 3K visitor daily now drop down to 1 - 1,5K.

I mean if it ain't broke why try to fix it? o_O
