So I just got to thinking... (I do that on occasion) but if websites are shut down, social media profiles are banned, youtube videos are removed due to illegitimate traffic/followers/likes/promotions could not someone use the same tactic to send this fake traffic/followers/likes/promotions to a competitors online promotion website/social media and cause them to be "shut down" in some way?

Simply looking for educational discussion on this as I am not planning on commiting any of these acts but I was just curious as to whether it would be possible (maybe something to look out for). How can the authority know the difference between these blackhat activities being commited by the actual owners or not and do they assume automatically that they were done for self gain by your competition?
