Hi, there's one thing to clarify before starting the journey.

This site is actually my 3rd Amazon affiliate site.

So you may wonder why I build a brand-new site instead of developing the ones that I currently have? The problem is that my other niche sites use an EMD domain, thus it's pretty hard to expand the topics and products. Hence, I decide to go bigger and broader. And I won't mention my other sites in this journey.

There are so many things that I learnt from building the first one, so it definitely gives me a great start and decent experience when it comes to build an affiliate site. That's enough for it.

    What is this journey about?

I just got a Brandable domain couple days ago and set up the themes for it. Here is the theme that I use:

    http://themeforest.net/item/smartmag-responsive-retina-wordpress-magazine/6652608

Great theme that score 90 points according to Pagespeed insights.

    UgMOgZ7.jpg
Besides that, I also install and set up all the required plugins:

    - Yoast SEO
    - Thrive Visual Editor
    - WP Super Cache
    - ...

The site currently has 10.000 words of content and I'm planning on adding 290.000 more (Most of them will be informative articles).
Let's just say that I manage to get about 120+ articles that ready to publish in the next 2 months - 300.000+ words in total.

Very lucky for me, I don't have to pay any money for them, not even a cent. (I'm really sorry but I can't tell how I got them).
You might notice that this journey may sound familiar to hekke's journey.

Well, I'm really inspired by hekke's journey. if you haven't heard of it, make sure to check that out.

    My Milestones for the site

This time, I will set up a lot of milestones so it can keep me motivated and make it easy to keep track. I will update the list of milestone in the next post.

    The SEO Plans

For the first 2 months, I'm planning on building the web 2.0s network for it. But before doing so, I'm going to send some Social Signals for each targeted articles.

Why Social Signals you may ask?

Because I received lots of decent results that prove Social Signals can provide initial ranking for your site. Here is the SERPs of my site that only used Social Signals (I absolutely did not build web 2.0s or PBNs to it).
    viv9ZMS.png

For this journey, I will update the expense cost, numbers of articles, numbers of words, organic traffic and total earned.
All the milestone and statistic will be included in the next post.

I think that should be enough for the head up. So wish me luck!

I like these journeys by more experienced people that will not just end with no further update like many others.

I'm going to be looking for social signals soon. From your tests do you have recommended suppliers of social signals or any to definitely avoid?

I used $1 Gigs on Seo Clerks and they worked pretty fine for me. My advice to go for one that provides various networks.

    For example:

For $1 you can get 100 likes from Facebook, 100 shares from Facebook, 100 tweets from Twitter, 100 from Google plus.
    Diversity is always better.

This time, besides buying those gigs, I will also do it manually with Linkcollider.com

Fun to see and compare the results of our sites!

I am sure you'll see some great success! Btw, why do you plan to have mostly informative articles? :)

As I don't have to pay money for those informative articles, so why not publish them all. As far as I'm concerned, they will make my site look authority in Google's eye, 3500+ words of content for each querry,

Since my longterm plan is to build legit sites with backlinks from authority backlinks, legit guest blogs, ... These informative articles will some part make it more appealing.

Good luck with journey, I will follow.
Regarding free articles, I think I know the trick and I won't out it, just want to ask do you need manually to go through article or you are publishing it directly?

Well, I like to follow Hekke's journeys, so I think this one should be interesting to watch. I'm on the same journey with a brand new site (2 days old now). Not going to reach 300k words, because the niche is too small. So I'll create articles for all the relevant keywords, and I'll see what happens :)

Looking forward to see your results. How big a niche are you targeting? And how much do you make on your first sites?

Yeah, it takes me more than a week to manual check and edit them. So I would say all of them are perfect for blog content.

    Thank you.

My first site earns around $180 - $200/month. But the SERPs just keep stucking at the #2.
Since it's EMD domain, I still need to be carefull when it comes to build link for it.

Making a site myself as well. I lack organization. I might need to write things down first on paper and go from there. But then again I don't even know what to write. Hired 2 writers. Asked them if they could research the content and then write reviews. Gonna get that all together. Before I put the content up. Is that the best way to do it?

Ok, I will list what I learnt from building my previous sites in the next update too.

My advice is not rely too much on your writers. You need to do the research yourself before ordering the article.

    For example:
If your niche is about Electric razor, you will need to do some research about them. How many types are there, what is the common price, how do they choose, ....
If you don't do these background checks, how do you know whether the article/ content is good? At least, you gotta know a bit about the products that you want to promote.

But before you even get to that point, make sure to mind map all the category / structure for your site. The easy way to do this is to spy on your competitor.
    - What are their structures?
    - How long is your competitor's article?
    - How do they internal linking between each articles?
    - ...

Know your enemy before you go to war!

Here is my format for 1 Product Review & 5 Products Reviews

    1 Product Review
    - Introduction - 150 Words
    - General Review for the product (vary depend on personal preference)

    - Important Feature 1 - 70/80 Words
    - Important Feature 2 - 70/80 Words
    - Important Feature 3 - 70/80 Words
    - Important Feature 4 - 70/80 Words
    - Important Feature 5 - 70/80 Words
    - PROs - Only Bullet Points - Very Short Sentences
    - Cons - Only Bullet Points - Very Short Sentences
    - What do customers say about the product?
    - Final Verdict/Conclusion - 100 Words

    Best 5 Products Review
    - Introduction - 100 - 200 Words
    - Things To Consider, Who Need This Particular Products, Why You Need - 200 - 300 Words
    - How I Selected Top Products (See TheSweetHome.com, TheWireCutter.com contents for example)
    - Comparison Table (I compare all products feature by feature)
    - Product 1 Review - 250/300 Words
    = General Review
    = Pros
    = Cons
= What do customers say about this product
    - Product 2 Review - 250/300 Words
    - Product 3 Review - 250/300 Words
    - Product 4 Review - 250/300 Words
    - Product 5 Review - 250/300 Words
    - Final Verdict

New Update - 3 days since I started the Journey

    Number of Articles - 19 (+14)
    Words of Content - 33.700 (+22.100)
    Organic Traffic - 0
    Expense Cost - $83.52
    Total Earned - $0.00
    Profit - -$83.52

Just finish publishing 14 more articles on the sites. It takes a decent time to create Feature Image as well as formating.
I also created a Fanpage/ Twitter and Pinterest for it. So will start to adding followers for all of them soon.

At the moment, I'm focus on adding Social Signals by using Addmefast.com and Linkcollider.com. I got around 2000 points/day for each of them, which is enough to run.

Most importantly, just published a "Buying Guide with 5 Product Reviews" - 3500+ words article. For the next couple days, I will add some more articles that relate to the product. Why?
Because, the site will gain more trust in Google's eye. It all makes sense as Google'll think your site know what it's all about. At the end of the day, this all comes down to "niche relate content".

The more articles you publish about a topic, the higher rank you get in SERPs. It worked out for me in the past, so I will definitely follow this pattern.

    For example:

If my product is "electric razor" and my main article is "5 Best Electric Razor Reviews" or "Ultimate Buying Guide for the Best Electric Razors", I will need to publish "How to use Electric Razors" or "Most popular Mistakes people make when buying electric razors", etc... you get the point.

My milestones before Deadline - 10/04/2016 (First month)

1 - Get up to 150.000+ words of content in the next 2 weeks. With this amount of content on my site, I believe will receive some initial traffic to the site.

2 - Get 1.000 followers for each social network platform.
    Current:
    Facebook - 20
    Twitter - 5
    Pinterest - 0

3 - Get consistently 20 organic traffic/ day. At this early stage, it wouldn't matter if they are from informative articles or money article.

The interface of link collider looks very friendly, I recommend it for newbies
