If you have a backlink on a real wikipedia page, e.g. en.wikipedia.org/sport_supplements (just an example), should you spam into it, to get the most effect out of it or is it not worth it, since the backlink is nofollow?

And if you think you should spam, spam directly as tier 2 or make web 2.0s as tier 2 and spam as tier 3?

No. For several reasons. First: the link is nofollow. You keep it there for reputation and reference traffic, not for pagerank.

Secondly, referrals from Wikipedia when caught by Chrome or analytics will give you good reputation. Remember some ranking signals are based on Google tracking users' habits. A site with traffic from Wikipedia gets some cookies.

So how do you make the most out of it? Just submit to WMT and leave it there? No social signals too?

Nothing you do to the page will increase it's power as the link is nofollow. WMT submit link is for new pages that are not indexed, so I'm not sure if google will recrawl a link via that.

You could always make a quick wordpress blog, post a small bit with a link to the wiki and then submit that wordpress blog page to WMT

no but if you want to increase the authority of a wikipedia page that contains your link, better to just add internal links to it throughout wikipedia, that will do it
