Currently I have my two main sites in the same Google Webmaster Tools account. Is this good or should I get two separate accounts? Is it too late since they already associate me with both sites? Should I just not use Webmaster tools?

That's the way I'm feeling these days, too steelbone. Just took ALL G analytics code OFF the site I was using it on - which they tanked so bad in their BS Panda crap I lost 500% of my earnings and had to rent my house out just to make the mortgage payment. Now I'm living in a shack trying to survive on peanut butter. Oops, sorry. Vent mode attack... :hmmmm2:

Just got all the analytics code off 2 days ago so can't tell yet if it's helping.

I have no qualms about using WMT - it's just a way of accessing info they already have anyway

But there;s no way I'd have more than one site per account - that is supplying them with info.

Using WMT is ok, but please use different accounts for each site. If your in a niche that has manual checks and they check your site your handing them all your sites in one go. I got done like this about a month ago, I had one site in the credit card niche and pretty sure there was a manual review based on analytics. They hit all 5 sites in my wmt account in one go, all emails arrived about 5mins after the first one. :(

GWT, google chrome, anything google - big no no. (if your BH of course)

Anyone that thinks it doesn't supply additional information to G is naive. Heck google just got caught and sued for 22M for gathering information from people from Safari's internet browser despite not receiving consent to do so.

How else would you check if your site is being deindexed?

Search your site under google and see if it comes up

Type www.site.com in google's search engine. if your site comes up it's indexed

Actually there is a special command "site:" to search only in the pages from the exact web site. You may simply type "site:yourwebsite" to get a list of all of the indexed pages from a given domain.

I would prefer having only one site for one account.

If you are white hat (money method and backlinks) you are good to go with GWT

I have several sites in one GWT account, but all WH, one main, sort of hub/company domain that links out to them all.
They all also use the same adsense account
GWT has it's uses, I keep considering piwik etc, but they rank well, it reports what I need and all is good.

On the other hand, I have some sites I use for linking, testing, development and odd BH ventures - of course no GWT there and new adsense accounts where applicable.

What I suppose I'm trying to say is that if you're sites are legit, healthy/diverse/clean links and mostly WH, then there is no harm.

    Cheers,
    Si
