I'm thinking about upgrading from Premier and just using my website name for my paypal business account. Just privacy you know, and I figure I could use a Skype phone number for customer service? Or maybe I could get a free 800 number and use it to forward to my own phone...?

Anyhow, I've had my account for years, and it's completely verified with all real info.

If I upgrade, should I have a problem?

And for the address, I want to change to a private mailbox...just don't want my stuff out there like that, ya know.

Somebody please help me out here and let me know if I'm going overboard. I want to upgrade at least, but I'm just trying to figure out how to do it.

Honestly I will tell u like this, and I try to tell people this all the time..if u want to make sure your money is safe, and u have no problems. Get a merchant account..do not use paypal to take payments from a website. Maybe u have not ran into bad luck with them yet...But take it from me...Get a merchant account.

I have heard the horror stories about Paypal... for me... at least up to now I've encountered no problems. The few times I ran into roadblocks, a friendly (emphasis on friendly) call to customer service had them quickly solved.

I recently got a paypal debit card and use it regularly for purchases, cash withdrawals, etc. I've also had a merchant account in the past and both are certainly options.

Yea there are those needle in the hay stack customers who haven't had any problems with paypal, and i take my Yankee fitted off to them...but for everyone 1 customer without a problem there 20 customers with a problem. Paypal is just not the way to go.

I use paypal because you get access to your money instantly. If you can name a merchant account that allows you instant access to your funds, then I'd be interested.

Ok, and what about for people who use paypal....how would they be able to pay me? I still want to be able to take paypal payments since a lot of people use them, but I want to avoid having to use them.

You can take Paypal and just withdraw your account daily and deposit it into your bank.

Or, you just setup a draft from PP to your bank that's connected with your bank...does take about 3-4 days tho.

And i for one haven't had a problem with paypal ever. And i've had my account for about 4-5 year now. Maybe it's because i owe them a bit of cash from my PP credit card? lol

Well, I have a prior bankruptcy, so no PP CC for me. I'm actually about to upgrade to business, and now I'm considering my options for that so...gotta wait for the moment.

What's the whole deal with paypal and businesses anyway? If I file a LLC, should I just call up paypal and do the verification for the account then and there to avoid any holds in the future?

I just want to avoid the problems that people have with them a lot of the times. And I can't afford any of my money to be held.
