    Hi guys,
Last update hit some of my microsites . So i started thinking about authority sites.
One of my microsites wasnt hit so i am thinking about turning this site into authority site with many kws in my niche .
    So what is better:
    1. For example my micro site is greengloves.net which has 2000 exact searches and put there articles about other kws in this niche with 1000+ local searches lets say other articles about red gloves , blue gloves and then try to rank every article on its own keyword?
    2. Or continue with making EMD micro sites about gloves .

    What do you suggest ?
Thanks a lot for all answers and tips

The last update hit EMD sites but not mine, I think it's because of thin sites so yes I'd add more content and make it as so called authority site.

You have to make things look nature, you can surely fool the algorithm but not a manual review so make sure it has a good set up and gives an enjoying reading.

Yes but would it be much harder to rank one optimized article with keyword which has about 1000 local searches than whole emd micro site optimized for that keyword?

no it is not hard. It reaps the same results. Everyone all over the net is ranking articles for certain keywords they have optimized their articles to rank for.

I'm in the same situation you are. That stupid Google update hit my site that was ranking on page 2. Now nowhere to be found, I've been working on it to convert to an authority site. In my opinion and from what I have been reading lately on forums, authority sites is where it's at. Keep writing quality articles for your site that are optimized for those keywords you want to rank for.

and as for your second question I would rather go with making your site an authority if I were you. That's what I'm doing with my sites. Then when I start gaining more revenue from it I plan on flipping it.

It would be more beneficial to have your articles ranking all over the place for the same niche and similar keywords your targeting. Rather than having all of these MNS.

Damn, I was going to steal the idea of that site :(
But doesn't matter. If I were you, I would have tried bringing the affected sites back in good position and see why they were dropped. Then convert all of them to authority. Just my 2 cents ;)

My friend told me that he lost some MNS, but only all of his authority websites with lots of original contents survived.

Having very high quality contents + keyword diversity is the key of success.

To be honest I'm not exactly sure if it would be okay to use that same content after diminishing the site. I don't think I would do it though. At least not for a site. I would use it for web 2.0s or other articles for backlinking to your money site. That MNS just contains like 3 articles right?

Don't forget that "Authority Sites" aren't immune to getting wiped from the serps either. Seen it happen so many times in the various niches I'm in. You also need to remember that an authority site isn't simply a site with more articles. These sites provide true value to the user, aren't crafted solely to sell products, and contain media of all types.

Not discouraging you at all, as I haven't built a micro site in a year or so. Just some things to think about. GL

You can't keep writing about greengloves, as your example, forever. Some point of time you may need to get out of the keyword and diversify the keywords, so it's always better to make it an authority site with the latest google updates targeting emd's mini or micro sites...

I did this after Penguin 1 rolled out. I decided to go to a new domain instead of trying to salvage the old one. I deindexed the old site and put the new one up.

About 80% of the content no longer ranked like it used to.
