I currently have a domain that is in the pet vertical that gets 450,000 Google visitors a month. It is a blog. I sell a pet ebook, which is how I make all of my money which is on the homepage of my domain. My main blog page is domain.com/blog/ and on that page I link to 750 blog posts that I have wrote over the last 3 years. My domain has a bit more than 5000 backlinks all natural. My main blog page has around 400 backlinks. I have an option to buy out one of my competitors for $25,000 and they only get 4000 Google visitors a month. They used to get over 100,000 visitors years ago, but their content is shit. Short 300 word articles. Their domain is over 10 years old and has 6500 backlinks. Their DA is a bit higher than mine (mine is in the low 60s and theirs is in the mid 60s). Because most of my search traffic comes from my blog posts, I am thinking of taking my competitors domain and 301 redirecting it to my /blog page as their main site is just a blog. This would cause my blog page to get 6500 extra links. Do you think my traffic would go up a lot? If you had to take a guess what would you say? And how long would it take to see results? Is it worth buying the site and even redirecting?
