    Hi everyone!
I am promoting a fitness product with PPC traffic.
Since adwords/bing is too expensive for me, I am using PPC networks that give me clicks for 0,01-0,15$.
Obviously this traffic isn't of the same quality as adwords for example.

Right now I am sending the visitors to my landingpage that presells the fitness product and then leads to the products sales page.

Would it be smarter to send the people to my squeeze page that is giving away a free ebook in exchange for email adresses?
If these people are in my list, I could build a relationship with them and then send them to my landing page, which may lead to higher conversions.

Also I could send those people who aren't interested in this specific product other offers that may convert.

You pretty much already convinced yourself..

Build a squeeze page that is very related to the product you are selling now and collect emails for sure.

You can even have a exit popup or popunder that goes to the landing page if they don't sign up, so you won't be losing much of that traffic.

Setup a series of emails over a couple of days to make them wet for your product, and after that you can sell a ton of other products just like that.

Most of cheap PPC sources from my own experience are a waste of time,

    the problem is:

    - either traffic volumes are pathetic for profitable keywords
    - or the simply traffic quality is junk.

    Thanks for your hint!
I got ~200$ on three different cheap PPC ad networks so I will spend these funds and send the traffic to my squeeze page and see what I can get.
In addition I will produce some videos for youtube, whore some traffic on related forums, do Q&A and get some social traffic.

Do I miss some good traffic sources for fitness related things?

Go for collecting their emails. If you don't do that, you can only sell them ONCE, but when you got their emails in a list, you can sell more than just once. You get the point :)

Good idea the one for collecting email addresses. Then later you can setup some email campaigns. My question to anyone with more experience would be, what to say on those followup emails and how frequently?

Hm I created 4 follow up emails so far, all with free stuff on this particular niche.
Afterwards I will send them an affiliate link.
If someone buys, I will take him into another list, which gets sent higher priced products.

The other people get free stuff/cheap products until they buy something.
    Does this sound reasonable?

It would depend on how well the product/offer's landing page is.

If I felt their landing page was attractive enough I would send traffic straight to it, at least 1,000 (depending on cost of course)

If none of them converted and I felt the traffic source was targeted enough I would then try email marketing by sending the traffic to my own squeeze page then mailing them using aweber

The problem I find with mailing is it takes a lot of experience and money especially if you are driving visits using paid methods, fair enough if its SEO or social traffic you can just keep split testing squeeze pages and emails until you get the right combination

Sometimes tho, its best just to leave it - thats one of the hardest things to do with paid traffic, especially if you have made a few sales but you are still in the negative, you gotta know when to call it a day and either a) change traffic source or b) change product

    Good luck

I already got the funds on tier2 PPC networks.
Besides I will generate some free traffic and send it to my squeeze page.
If I can't manage to sell something, I can still sell solo ads and monetize the list this way.

I am spending ~0,07$ per click and got a budget of ~200$.
That means I can get ~2800 clicks.
If my conversion rate will be 20% what is pretty low imo, I got a nice amount of subscribers to start with.

I'd say send them to your squeeze page. It's more effective in the long run

I've noticed with google adwords, many of my page views are less than a second long. Around 90+ percent... Google does nothing to correct this. I don't know if it's a bot doing clicks, or google is inflating numbers... but it seems like an awful waste of money.

I'm amazed that it took 13 replies for someone to finally come and mention split testing!

With landing pages there is never a one-size-fits-all solution as there are so many variables. A simple squeeze page + email series may work for one product / traffic type but for another product sending them directly to a sales page may convert 3x better. The only way for you to find out is by testing, and while testing can obviously get expensive you can start with a relatively small sample and you will often already get a general idea of what works and what doesn't.

    Good luck!
