Should I put a 301 redirect on my domain or my www.domain?

I'm confused on this problem of linking to the straight domain name or adding the www to it. I don't think one is better than the other but is it needful to redirect every link to the www domain to keep uniform or does it matter at all?

A 301 doesn't pass on 100% of link equity. So it's wise that you stick to linking to whatever is the default.

eg. if your site is http://www.example.com/, you will get more link equity if you link to that than you would if you linked to http://example.com which redirects to the www version.

Great! So all of my internal links are set to www.domain because of a wordpress default. All the backlinks I have built are just to the domain without the www.

What course of action should I choose? Fix all internal links? (like 60 pages worth) or just build from here on out with a redirect of current backlinks to www?

I don't use www but still i never got into any problem. About link equity, I don't think its a great problem. If it was so big deal then I haven't saved every time right?
