First off, I am not selling anything or pre selling anything. Don't PM me about buying it cuz I don't have it and I'm not even sure if I want to be involved with it. Ok, now on to it...

A friend of mine(and no it's not me P), who knows me as an im'er approached me about marketing a simple device that basically hides a license plate from red light and speed cameras. It's not a plate cover or spray. He says these are cheap and not reliable.

I'm not sure of the technology in play here, but I think infrared light is involved and it works from a 12V power source...which means that it can basically be hidden and hooked up to a taillight. I have seen it in use and it looks to be quality and it works very well. I question the legality of this in the US, but in Europe? I just don't know.

I know that they are cheap to make...under $20, and I imagine there is a market somewhere for a hefty profit. I'm just not sure if it worth my time.Thoughts?

My choices in pursuing business opportunities is always to ensure that I believe it can be viable in the long run (or if it's short term, then at least sell the business). With the product you're discussing, it certainly would be frowned upon by state and federal governments LOL. With that said, I feel that your business reputation should never be put in danger. Once you lose it, it's likely gone. If you're going to market this site, the authorities can easily find you and if it is very popular, then your product/site will be in the eyes of the authorities pretty quickly. Esp if you're costing them revenue!

There's always diff products to make good money on without having to worry about authorities as it is! That's just my 2 cents.

    Good luck :)

I have to agree with rock its a slippery slope. If your successful then the feds will surely find you.

i wanted to add 1 thought if you can reverse engineer the production of this item then you can create a guide to build these and sell the guide not the actual product.
