Thinking from the other end, do you think a user will search site:yoursite.com to come to your site?

The only person who would be aware of the site indexation would be the owner, so I dont give a look to see whether profiles are indexed or what so ever. But, if the forum requires signup to view profiles, there is no use if having them indexed. I always like more of my pages indexed in search engines for some reason lol.Having profiles indexed dont have anything to do with your useful articles.

So true. You should should let the profiles stay indexed, especially now that you already have a high index count. Do your articles rank for their targeted keywords? Have you even checked?

Noindex profile links at the very least. And consider removing them until the poster has acquired so many posts. 10 perhaps? Really depends on the site and the community built around it though.
