If you only want to make websites forget about it. If you're looking for a powerful language which demand will increase and play a huge role in the future of software development, go for it.

Have a look at pinterest.com, disqus.com, reddit.com and there are plenty of other websites that are done in the Python as a backend language. Instead of finding easier language, start with one and stick to it and later on once you have solid grasp on the concepts you can shift to any other language within few days.

OP, first decide either you want to work on the frontend or backend development.

If you want to start with frontend then have a start from HTML, CSS, Javascript, once you have the good grip, start learning about jQuery and then front-end frameworks such as vuejs or react.

For the backend, if you have basic knowledge then you can start building a basic website in Python using Flask/pybottle framework. A helpful article to begin with https://blog.miguelgrinberg.com/post/the-flask-mega-tutorial-part-i-hello-world

I will not suggest you begin with Django framework unless you really have a good grip on the basic concepts.

Sounds like this would be your first experience with programming, right?
    1. Yes, Python is a good first programming language. Don't worry about comments arguing about which language is best. All programming languages are very similar, so if you know one, then you basically know them all. It's not like trying to learn Chinese as someone who only knows Russian. Programming languages are very similar, so the first thing you want to do is learn the concepts rather than worrying about which language is the best. Programmers switch between languages all the time.
    2. If you're focusing on web development would recommend learning in this order:
      1. HTML
      2. CSS
      3. JavaScript (and consider also looking into jQuery, which is a library for JavaScript) [client side programming language]
      4. PHP (inbeforehaters) or Python [server side programming languages]
    3. Python is useful for web development. Would say that Javascript would be better to learn first. But again, it's better to start, learn the concepts, and then make a decision later on once you have more experience. Everything you learn will transfer between languages easily.
