my main money site is ranked 5-6 on g00gle for my main search term. It has about 3000 backlinks and about 5 out. this is about the same as all the sites above it. it's pretty much an authority site. Number one will be pretty hard as it's a newsltd site and rupert murdoch has a bigger marketing budget than I do (he also owns about a million PR6 and above pages to link from), but second should be possible

I have 100's of minor search terms at numbers 1-3. it's a 11 year old site, thats only been actively marketed for about 10 months.

all sounds good BUT I have a page rank of 0.

There are no recipricol links on the site and no links pages on the site.

In my opinion I'm suffering from a page rank penalty.

I have been stuck at 5-6 for quite a while now and am doing all I know to raise it. I am scrapebox blasting the hell out of bookmarks and other pages linking to it, there are thousands of articles out there. It's had a few xrumer blasts as well - still PR0.

My partner in the business (travel agency site) wants page rank. it will allow her to get better deals/commissions for the site. I'm very wary to ask g00gle for reconsideration as I, shall we say, haven't exactly followed their guidelines.

Could the PR penalty be costing me in rankings and preventing that final push to the top?

Would it be suicide to ask for reconsideration on a site that has had some BH?

the only way I'd stop doing that is if they cut off my 2 typing fingers!

I don't think it's a backlinking issue here.

11 year old and still no pagerank!

Theres something wrong there. Do you have it 11 years or did it expire and you picked it up?

I think it could be some bh messing it up. There is no way you shouldn't have page rank I would ask Google but you should stop any type of bh you are doing. Google is the law around here.

I agree there is definately something wrong ON your site.
Would you mind to PM more details for a research?

While the site is 11 years old it only has been working on it for the last 10 months. PR is based on links and nothing else so the age of a site has nothting to do with the PR.

First off Google does update the PR of a site on a continual basis but they only update the tool bar 3 or 4 times a year. The actual PR of your site could be much higher than the 0 that you are seeing.

Second the PR tool bar has not been updated since the first week in April so any links you have built since then would not show up yet.

Third there is no penalty involved, if Google was penalizing your site for anything you would not be on the first page for any search term. Just keep building your links and when the next update hits you will see a PR increase if you deserve it.

Unless your linkbuilding is 100% lily white I would not be contacting Google. You do not want a manual review of the site especially since it is not going to do you any good anyway.
