Guys i will need your advice on this. Normally i will just ignore any neg SEO attempts but since this is a big site that i have been working on for the past few months, so i guess i will have to take extra care.

A few information about this attempt:

    1. I have no idea why the attacker(s) chose my site, it ranks for many keywords but mostly on higher of page 2, they are moving slowly though.
    2. They didn't built any porn or viagra related anchors, they spam their links with my exact match anchors.
    3. They built it to 2 pages of my sites as well as to my homepage.
    4. This is definitely built with GSA SER, i can see a huge GSA SER footprint in there.
    5. Currently 31k links shown in Ahrefs with over 2k unique domain.
    6. I manually check these links, a lot of them are not indexed, deleted or rolls out of the exact pages.
    6. Google Webmastertool hasn't picked a single links from their blast, it has already been a week since the attack.

    My experience with Neg SEO:

    1. Neg SEO with GSA SER doesn't work upon my personal experience.
    2. To big sites, it is more like link juice than NegSEO.
    3. I believe less than 10% of these types of links will get indexed even with the best indexing strategy, at least for now.

Does it have any negative impact on your site?
Up until now, still nothing yet, only positive result that pushes a lot of my keywords a few spots up :-s

My strategy to get away from this attack:

    1. Add at least 20 unique high quality articles per day, the purpose is to dilute the effect of these links.
    2. Add high quality links to increase the authority of my site.
    3. Cross my fingers and jerk off to calm my tits.
    4. FUCK YOU to the attacker if you read this.

Anything else that i can do guys? should i disavow these links now or wait? :-?

Sorry bro didnt know that was your site. Ill send 2M links to get your site higher in serps bro :p

Really, this is what i do:

    See what pages are targetted.
    Move content to other page.
302 (not 301) attacked pages to some tier2 or tier3 backlink of yours.
Repeat to all attacked pages and you will surely not get any negative results.

    GL

Well the biggest problem is that he sent some links to my homepage, fml lol.

Just makes me kind of wonder does neg SEO still even work?

I have been attacked numerous time and none of my sites ever actually got hit.

Hmm, I'm with 'asap1' on this one and think you should disavow the links. Prevention is better trying to find a cure if/when things go awry. Perhaps give it a few days to gather up a list and monitor the influx of spam links via ahrefs or something before submitting them.

I would disavow them. Some wanker is building exact matches to my authority site too, and it is ranking very well in the search results. Same deal - exact match anchors to the same pages over and over again, lame profile links. A large number of them have already been deleted, but it is such a waste of fucking time to have to go through and disavow every week. Google really needs to fix it in their next penguin, its fucking ridiculous.

Disavow them. Fuck negative SEO, fuck spamming your own site with more links to outweigh the neg ones. Just disavow the spam links your competitor is sending your way

I have noticed some dodgy links to my main website too. I have been using Backlinks Monitor and it found 150 new links just last week!

Just out of curiosity what tools are you using to monitor all the backlinks? Someone else recommended for me to disavow the dodgy links.

That is some nice info, how long since you have been neg SEOed? Does disavowing those links cause any negative effect to your ranking?

You can give Ahrefs a try, for spammy links, they usually reveal twice the amount links compare to Majestic..

it's good to disavow only those links which are being show in google webmasters. i don't think neg seo with gsa works that good. even if your site goes down those links will be gone in a month and site will be back within 6 weeks.

I would recommend ahrefs too -- it picks up a lot more trash than majestic. Also, you can upload disavow files and exclude the domains/pages that have already been disavowed from showing up when you re-evaluate new links which makes it a lot less irritating.

I was on a cruise when the links started showing up, so I couldn't really do anything about it for like 2-3 weeks... I didn't see any negative effects, apart from one day where my rankings across the board dipped for most of my keywords. It's been happening for about 2 months now, and I think I know who it is. It may be a company that I wrote a negative press piece on (which generates a ton of traffic, but since they've sunk this low I've specifically ranked it right under their brand name - hahaha).

I tried ignoring them for a website. It kept its rankings for around 3 months and I had a pretty strong backlink profile, so no, I wouldn`t ignore neg seo. Try disavowing them.
