I'm looking for some reliable web hosting but I'm not sure if I should fork out the $25 a month of hostgator or go with one of the cheap hosting options.

I'm not making a huge site just 2/3 pages and I only need 1 email ad. I know the service will be worse, but is it really that bad?

Never had a problem with HG...just really easy to use, even for a noob who knew nothing at all it was a breeze to set everything up. I've got the Baby plan and I think it only cost me $115 for the year after a discount. You get unlimited domains so its good to have if you decide to expand.

hostgator is a great hosting and i have been with them for almost a year now and i still have no problems

i have discussed/debated which popular host is good and some mentions hostmonster and bluehost so i decided to create a mini site on one of my domain to show the comparison of their prices and features

HEADS UP: the links are affiliate links as I use them for my other web venture

    Code:
    [URL]http://addevils.com/[/URL]
I hope this helps you decide which hosting is best for you

@mods: if the way i posted the link is wrong, please correct it. thanks

Hostgator is really good, unless you plan on doing something with copyright infrigment or autoblogs, that can get you in trouble with them. But they are really realiable

Hostgator has the best support in the biz. You can go to their website and speak to an operator quickly. All the other services require you to email them first so you may have to wait a bit before fixing any problems.

Blue host, host monster, host gator, All have been good for me but I have had all go down at certain times due to the shared server and other sites taking up bandwidth... so I did have a site go down for 24 hours once and drop page rank from 3 to 0 but other then that it's all good..

I think this is the one that converted me. I hate it when you can't get through to hosting companies, it's such a waste of time and money.

Still, the love for hostgator is kinda strange, I feel like I'm in that film where the aliens take over the minds of humans.

oh and someone mention whether i would mind joining under their aff link - the answer is YES i would go get someone other dumbo to do it. i might as well get my own aff link

i bought the 3 year baby plan for around $140 (20% off with the code SPRING). so about $4 a month for my podcast @trancemix.org. The unlimited bandwidth and diskspace is so good <3 oh yeah and unlimited emails ftw.

I suppose you were using Windows based hosting with the site that went down?

+1 for HostGator. No hassle, great support, very reliable.

I use their SEO Hosting service - the separate C-class IP blocks are great for autoblogs.
