Should I focus on building internet businesses in my local language? (less competition)

    Hi,

    I've been told to use my main language as an advantage in Internet marketing.

    I'm a French Canadian. Do you think I should be focusing on only building internet businesses strictly aimed at French Canadians? Is it worth it?

    I will pick a niche, create an affiliate store, build a social media reputation with PPC and good content, and work my butt to generate sales.

    I guess there's less competition, but it's also way less populated than targetting entire countries, or France.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience. Yes, I am currently working on the stuff and not only posting on forums. I just want to hear your opinions on this!

    It is easier to market in sub niche's like that. Yes go for it.

    I can say that focussing my efforts on national keywords instead of international has been very lucrative for me.

    Initially give focus in local language as it will require less resource and you can easily arrange webinars/seminars in local language alone with your followers.
