Paypal is not a real merchant processor, so for example. Let say someone buys from a legit online store using there visa or mastercard and a chargeback is filed against the processor well the protocol is that the processor for the merchant is notified and then the actual merchant is notified from the processor then the merchant has 14 days to respond to the dispute.

PayPal protocol is not like that, when u file a chargeback against a merchant regarding paypal you are not filing a chargeback against the person who sold u a service or product u are filing a chargeback against paypal itself, in turn they will limit your paypal account as soon as they get notification.

Then you will have to complete whatever steps it is for u to un limit your account. The good part about having a real merchant account is it's easier to fight fraud because the bank itself deals with mastercard and visa regarding the dispute however paypal will just give u the money back because mastercard or visa will take the money away from paypal but like i said in turn paypal will limit your account.

It might take a few weeks, but once they get notification they will limit your account for the chargeback.

As a word to the wise you have to be VERY careful with paypal chargebacks as if they feel it was unjust by terms of services. This would mean they don't give you what you bought or its different than advertised. Sadly "the product was shit" isn't a valid reason in their eyes and you will usually loose the claim, and if you don't pay back then you would get frozen.

So be sure you read the ToS in great detail prior

I have filed a $400 charge back with paypal thru my credit card....
and I still have my paypal.

    and that was months ago.

    They did not penalize me.
They did not limit my account.
they did not put a hold.

    They did nothing.

So, I am not sure what members are talking about.

u can file a dispute for paypal and tell them your situation.. someone will manually review it and if they think you have a case then they refund you. If not then they will just let the hosting company keep the money. It's one or the either so make sure you type a really good case with paypal.

the crappy thing with paypal is if u link your bank to their processor, they can withdraw money from you without authorization.. It happen to me with ebay listing fee i got taxed $20 for selling something without even me authorizing it. I filed a dispute and got my money back... but 3 weeks later paypal auto system did the same thing again so i filed another dispute and i guess the person who reviewed it this time decided paypal should keep my money and so they did... do no link your bank account to paypal unless you want surprise charges, its a common complaint if you google it.

The problem is that, the provider promised 1GBPS speed & Im getting 10 MBPS speed most of the time.
I paid 400 bucks for the shit thing!
I have already raised a dispute in PP but that'll be of no use as PP doesn't refund for any services & the dispute has 90% chance that it'll go in favor the seller.

So, guys what would you suggest? File a chargeback with bank & any INDIAN users have done that/what would you say when they ask the reason?

I used the card from my paypal account.
    Some help would be appreciated:(

    You have two options here.

Fight for you rights, file charge backs, sue PayPal and hosting company, whatever.

Or, you can just let it go. Sunk cost, move on.

Wanna honest advice? Move on. Add the company to shit list and write
off money as a sunk cost. You're running a business here. Focus on
delivering more value to more people and you'll make it back tenfold.
That's the rule I follow in my business. I've lost a few thousand dollars
this way, been scammed a couple of times, so what? I am still making
money because I don't focus of shit that happens sometimes but instead
focus on creating value and service. I probably spent around thousand
bucks before I found true 100mbps dedicated server for XRumer.

It is too easy to get sucked into these "battles" with "dishonest bastards".
It will only take your focus away from what's important. Don't fall into this
    trap, mate.

PS. And yeah, don't pre-pay. Only pay month by month for at least 6 months.

how old is your paypal account, if u have a "grandfather account" meaning one of those accounts from 1999 then your account is under a different contract. I filed a chargeback against adsenseboy for his crappy software and a few weeks later my account was limited.

    I agree with Green Goblin.

When you use your debit card as a funding source and file a chargeback, it is against Paypal NOT the company you have the dispute with.

Not sure about whether Paypal will penalize you, but I am sure the chargeback will be against Paypal.

I had a similar experience a long time ago, but I do remember that Visa/Mastercard really didn't help as they said the transaction between you and Paypal is a legit one. Maybe its different now I dunno.
