    My sites NSFW
    Code:
    hxxp://www.SmokinGifs.com
My site is a animat*ed gif site for my*spac*e or forums..

Now my question; is it worth buying submissions to social bookmarking or directories?

Also how else should I promote this.. I've just been spamming a video site but they catch up with me and delet all my comments, right now its my main source of traffic

    Yes, you should.
If you submit your site to directories, they will act as back links.
Dont submit to paid directories, it might be waste. There are a lot of free directories. Submit to them.Social Book marking is also a good practice. If you have a good post, these sites bring you large traffic.Your post will also be indexed very fast.

    So better try them.

I would advise you to go for both but more importantly for directory submission. Both will bring good traffic to your site.

I have had good results with both. Just make sure that if your site is new not to submit to many links at one time. I made this mistake with my first site and my ranks fell by a lot.
