My movie site just got de-indexed today in Google and that single website was generating around $100/day until it got de-indexed.

Do you people suggest doing link building for that website? Or should I start from scratch using a different domain name?

Time is against you. It might prove faster to just rank a new site, depends on competition and all that, but if your ranking a easy-medium KW, it might be quicker to just start fresh than to keep building links to get out of sandbox. Just my 2 cents, good luck to ya.

My website hasn't been sandboxed rather it has been de-indexed completely.

How or why was your site de indexed?

Did you receive any official communication from Google.

    Cheers

Any reasons why it was de indexed?
I suspect building backlinks will not make much difference.

hmmmm.. if the co.cc cannot do anything then i would say it would be not worth the time. well at least you could tunnel it remaining traffic to a new site.

Well my site wasn't in Webmasters Tool so I didn't receive any message from Google.

Apart from that, I guess it's time to move and start another website.

But in the mean time, I will just continue link building and add unique content just to check whether it'll make any difference or not.

That simply means your site was banned. But I would like to see the progress, subscribed.

    Take a guess
Move it to another domain, preferably aged. Start over with links, only high quality ones.

Since Movie Sites aren't long term projects I would just move to the next one, I've been in your situation and its much better to just start over fresh :)

Deindexed? Then its time to move on.

Being deindexed and receiving a penalty or a Google dance are separate things altogether. If it was indeed deindexed then its time to move on.

Any idea why it was deindexed other than it being a movie site?

Why don't you ask those guys at the Big G what went wrong. Maybe if you had link builded then some of the sites might have been spammed and Google might have penalized them and along with that you also suffered. Before you start from a scratch check out your competition and decide what goes in your favour.
