    Hi fellas!

I have created a tool for my blogfarm(that today counts 110 blogs). This tool let`s me create a new blog by simply selecting a wordpress MU install and giving the blog there a name). It then adds the newly created blog to the "feedlist" and creates new posts on the blog each 2 hrs.

PS: The WPMU-sites are privatly run, so this is NOT a spam tool.

The blog posts is syndicated news for a given subject/topic from the worlds biggest websites (RSS-feeded and stored in a DB).

I am considering to make this tool public, and adding more features as requested by the users. Allthough i most likely will have to charge some bucks for it (i am thinking subscriptions on a website where you can mange your blogs), since i will have to use quite some time to make the code suitable for such a task, and not at least the job that comes with further administration and development.

That's a great idea there especially for people with a massive blog network like you!

Yeah that would be great, and feel free to charge for it as your time is valuable.

I would really consider buying one of these.

By the way can you code so that it automatically adds plugins?

If they are wpmu installs just stick everything in the /mu-plugins/ folder and they are auto activated. Someone even mentioned a plugin that will configure plugins here this week.

Plugins is a bit more hassle but again not impossible. All blogs that are auto-generated gets a randomly selected theme from those available in the WPMU install, so since i managed to figur e that out, it should be a ok job to get some random plugins activated too. ;)

And a sidenote: This system also support blogger, allthough not creation of blogger-blogs (yet) but at least posting on them. ;)

najiz : I am thinking a monthly fee for a centralized website where all is managed from, but of course, BHW members sould get some pretty nice offers, and of course i will let those who want to test it, do so for free for some time. :) (that is if i choose to continue developing this to a public tool ofc)

    Any other input? :)

Based on the few comments so far, i am considering to make my tool public with these features:

-Feedposting -> rss-feeds are autogenerated to posts on a given interval
-Blog connections, connect blogs to the system
-Blog posting page, to let you post to any of your blogs connected.
    -Some general tools, like rewriter(s)

Any other requests for such a system?

personally I'd prefer it if there was a standalone version available. Then we wouldn't have to worry about your server being down and if you ever decide to drop the project, then everyone would be caught out in the rain. With a standalone then we're guaranteed to have the tool forever. Of course the problem with this is that someone could probably crack it after awhile.

Pardon me for my inexperience when it comes to autoblogs but to the ignorant few among us it seems that with a couple clicks this tool creates a fully functioning autoblog and posts on it every two hours from a feed database. My questions regarding this may seem stupid to you but I'm still curious.

So when you first set up the tool you post the addresses of a ton of feeds that you want to include and it will then randomly select from one of the feeds you submitted to post? So while you're pulling from the same group of feeds the overall content will be different since it'll pull from a different feed on each subsequent post?

We just install wordpress mu on our site and this takes care of the rest? Including CPA and adsense? Or do we have to take care of monetization ourselves.

I do see the reasons for a standalone application, but it is not impossible that too will come, but for now its faster for me to convert it to a online system. :) If this tool become popular, of course i will consider creating a standalone version in the future. :)

Actually no. You give each blog a search term(like "Michal Jackson" or "Opel"), so then only posts from the feeds containing those searchwords will be added to that blog, so you will get blogs with a topic, and not thousands. ;)

Monetization is something the user runs his/herself. I personally have created a number of themes already containing ads etc. So when i create a new blog, it is done within seconds since i do not need to do anything more with the blog than to create it. (The system automagicly selects a random theme)

Well if you decide to release this please do contact me. Also if your planning on releasing a beta version and want someone who will actually buy the finished product from you to be a tester let me know. How much do you think such a tool would cost?

I am planning it yes, just doing some brainstorming here first. :)

A quick guess is that this tool can be up and running in a matter of weeks.

Yup, when the tool is ready, i will do that ;)

That is also the plan, i will add a system that let`s users that betatest it use it completely free for say 2 months, that should clear out many bugs. Then i can even increase the free period for those users who actually give feedback.

I`l guess i`l update this thread when anything interesting happens. ;) When it comes to pricing my mind has been around $10/month so far, with a unlimited number of blogs that can be connected to a account. So for persons with many blogs that shouldn`t be to bad IMO. ;)

I'm in - sounds like a well thought out tool. I've just finally gotten the csv create plugin working, but this would save me many steps.

Let me know when it's available.

Sounds great. I would be willing to pay as long as the fee is reasonable for something like this.
