Should I comment on my own blog to make it seem... less dead?

Hey guys, I have a blog that gets about 100-400 views a day (depending on if I share or not) so it's not exactly a dead website. My comment section is dead, I have only 3 comments on the whole site which makes it look more dead than it really is (even though 100-400 is not all that "lively" so to speak). My question is, how do I get around this? Should I add comments through various user accounts or is that a crappy move?

Well there are some people who will comment on blogs as services that they offer, so I would not really consider this to be a crappy move.

I also agree that giving it some jump-start with comments will give it more of an authority feel, just make sure to date them realistically. If you end up getting a lot of comments and you feel guilty about it, you can remove the comments you once made to make it 100% authentic.

Well, in my opinion, you can suggest to your readers to comment on your blog posts, for instance by including questions like: What do you think about it? Do you agree with me? What are your opinions about sth?

i think commenting on your blog should spawn a lotta people to comments, cos a lot of people might not feel the need to comment on blogs with no comments, make comments that should spark interactions from others, e.g a gossip blog that writes about justin bieber, you could create comments that oppose jb, a lotta die-hard justin bieber fans passing by should stop and protect their own cause... have tried this in a couple of blogs and it works the magic... commenting on your blog is ok *My opinion*

    hope this helps... :)
