So I've got a website that I have had for 1 to 2 years which my audience uses to download the software and gaming cheats/mods I showcase in my videos. I've got ads on there which is what makes me money of course. Is it a good choice to switch to .cc? Most other quality tld's are already taken for my domain.

Why are you changing the TLD in the 1st place?
You're driving traffic from social media, so Google DMCA claims are not a problem,
If you're getting DMCA removals requests to your hosting, just use a bullet proof one,

You can get a different domain & redirect in case you're worrying about domain takedown,
At least, you'll be able to redirect to a different one when the last get taken down

My website is legit and doesn't face the risk of getting taken down. I just thought another domain would look better. However it seems you guys don't recommend it.

You can get a free one for a year, the 3 tiers of addresses are burner addresses where they are intentionally designed to be taken down, so in regards to that the cheapest or free then better.

If it has ads and they're tied to your channel changing domains could be a problem but if the renewals asking for alot to renew it then just change.

If it's professional and your a big player. .com will do

Only the .com domain can give you any value in this situation. Absolutely no need for the .cc. It neither has any seo or branding value.
