    Hello

Recently I highered an app coder (found the guy on BHW). Anyway instead of paying him directly I used GetaCoder to upload funds. App was supposed to be completed in 6 days now it's about 12 days and I don't hear anything from him. His Skype says "do not disturb" for the last 5 or so days and he isn't responding to my messages.

Should I cancel project or give him the benefit of the doubt?

Initially he demanded half the payment upfront. Luckily I didn't give it to him.

    What to do now?

If you can withdraw your funds I would do so. That is so unprofessional, and most likely a scam. Find a new reputable app coder, try odesk.

From my experience with crap like that I would cancel. Situations like that NEVER work out, and usually get worse the longer you wait.

    Cancel.
Try and hit him up one more time for a reply, if you get nothing soon - cancel it.

Thanks guys for replies. I actually send him emails + Skype + messages via GetaCoder And no reply.

My only concern is that a few days ago (5) he told me "your app is almost done" but since then I had no response from him.

Luckily my money is still in GetaCoder's hands so all I have to do is dispute it. (I hope)

I cancel it on the fact that he took more than double the time he told you it would be complete alone. Time is money, people that act that way make me feel just as angry as getting scammed.

I would cancel and wait for the developer to reply and would not make any payment upfront.

definitely cancel. even if the guy comes back, I would not rehire him. if the job is almost finished, that's his problem.

    Definitely Cancel.

If he said it would take 6 days and now it's 12 then it means he either doesn't want to do the project anymore, forgot about it, or couldn't do it in the first place and was hoping that you'd pay him up front.

Get your money back and hire someone else who will actually get it done on time.

Just got a message from him (wonder if he saw this thread) he says he was away and he is still working on it.

Sounds like a poor excuse but I'll wait and see..

Poor communication + past deadline = no go.

I've had great experiences with coders that deliver way past the deadline, but they've always been in constant contact, plus I've been able to check their progress. I've also had other coders with a complete lack of communication skills deliver before or exactly at deadline, so no complain there either.

Now I'm trying to get my money back on GetaCoder
