I am really interested in buying either GSA or scrapebox, leaning more towards scrapebox tho..

I was thinking what is its main use? Does it "scrape" urls to build your links on right? what else can it do? Do I NEED to buy/use proxies?

The sales page says it all

http://www.scrapebox.com/

both are different softwares. If you can afford then buy both as scrapebox is good for doing some tasks quickly and to feed GSA with links. So get both if you can

And yes you will need proxies for scrapebox. You can get away with proxies with GSA as it has an awesome in built proxy search/checker

I use to use Scrapebox like crazy before backlink penalties. It still has its place however. You just need the right details to look for.

It's better for build tire 3 or 4 links nowadays rather direct links.

I agree and disagree with this statement. But, I understand completely why you should aid it.

Scrapebox in my opinion is the ultimate primary AND supplementary tool for internet marketing.

Why do I say that? It will allow you to get "Locations" to exploit and get an edge IF you use it correctly.

Not to say that its difficult to use, not at all and there are many, many videos and tutorials right here on how to use it.

If you have to pick one, get scapebox first, THEN, learn how to use it, THEN, once you see what Scrapebox can do it will flow naturally how you can augment almost every single thing you need to do regarding marketing campaigns. After that, you will know EXACTLY what to do with GSA to amplify all your efforts.

Nope, you don't have to buy it if you don't know what it's for.

You might want to look at h**p://www.gscraper.com/ as well. I have scrapebox as well, but Gscraper is a freaking beast compared to scrapebox. Im amazed Ive never heard of it until a buddy put me on it.

Emmm.. GSA is a program to build links. You can consider Scrapebox is more of a program an assistant. It has thousands of function and actually (blog commenting) to build links is in the end of the list :)

Code:

thanks for all the thoughts guys. Would scrapebox help me with white hat SEO? As in I just scrape up links, then build manually on the sites it gives me?

Now you started to grasp the idea of Scrapebox ;) . Yes.. You can scrape thousands of any type of site you want. Sort them by PR and get a nice list of domains to post your articles to. However.. Why manually. Imagine merging it with a program like Ultimate Demon, Senuke XCR ...etc. So, you will have nice clean unique backlinks from hundreds of sites ( totally automated :) )

This will give you a great idea about what I'm talking about:-

Note: White hat means you don't build links to your site and hope the google will get you ranked :). But if you are talking about safe link building it's not about the tool. It's about you. Any tools can be used for any type of link building.

Note 2 : As I see from the thread many people helped you and you are grateful for them. This is why there is Thanks for those who helped you. And Add Reputation for those who truly add value to you.

I don't use Scrapebox for blog commenting at all and I still use it daily. If you manage proxies, URL lists, or ever scrape anything there is no substitute.

They could get away with charging the full price of Scrapebox as a monthly fee as far as I'm concerned.

Although it's mostly used for building backlinks, it's a damn powerful tool -with a bit of your own twist to it, you can really milk some cash out of it. For eg: Proxy checker, Email scrapping, keyword scrapping etc. can be used besides mere auto/manual commenting. I can't think of a day of going without SB!

Worth every penny you spend on it and some tbh.

To Tell the Truth. If I need a program for my backlinking and ranking my site. And I can only afford GSA or Scrapebox. I would go for GSA without thinking. Scrapebox is a great program to help you as a servant for other tools. Like said before.. an assistant tool. However it's not a good backlinking program alone

So, If I have only money for one software then I would consider a backlinking program. I would compare between GSA and Licorne AIO.

It isn't a "this or that" type Software - in order to use software like SEnuke or Ultimate Demon effectively you need to scrape your own sites. Scrapebox accomplishes this.

I don't use Scrapebox at all to manipulate my SERPs, I use it to collect information (like sites, proxies, pagerank data, indexation rates, etc) that I can then leverage using other software.

yeah i plan to use it to get links for my free trial of senuke i just started xD

skip both - if this is your first time don't get caught up in software I say...

1.Spend time on a few high quality test sites
2.Buy a variety of cheap seo services- carefully separating your test sites so no one service is applied to any two sites, analyze the reports they send you (outlining all the work they did).
3.Wait for rankings
4.Take successful sites, and REALLY analyze the work done on those

rinse and repeat...OR now you can go look for your software now that you know what it is that you want to do with it.

If you have to learn the software, scrape lists, sort, filter, blah blah blah blah, post, ping etc etc.... AND do EVERYTHING else yourself, then it could take you years to figure out an seo formula that works for you - or more likely you'll burn yourself out by April.
