Hi,

One of my websites somehow defaulted to www instead of just domain name. Should I both changing it to domainname.something, without www as the main option, or is it not that important?

Preference
I choose to remove www. (i don't like it), but it's the same in terms of SEO etc.
You pick one and stick with it.

I don't understand how people can NOT have a www!. Its like the rule of having a capital at the start of the sentence, it just looks better and more complete. I always think non-www looks so naked and a bit dodgy.

Upto you, but I know some people hate www too! lol

Is your site a WordPress site? You maybe changed it there in the settings?

I think without "www" won't do any harm or benefit to your domain , but without "www" is somehow cool for domain recognition.

Just adjust WordPress general setting and Set A record on domain for both www & @

If you like something, would you want it to be naked :suspicious:

I feel that https:// is like the rule of having capital at the start of the sentence.
for example
I remember at one point, browsers only show the URL without http or https and looked liek blackhatworld.com or www.blackhatworld.com
that felt naked

and infinite loop your site?

Well, I think naked looks better too, but I'm not bothered. It has been going for two months now with www so I was just wondering if it has any benefits if I'd remove it. But I don't want to mess GSC showing me half www half non-www stats, so I guess I'll stick with it.

Thanks!

do you have linked already posted?
things already ranked in serps with www.?

If so, leave it.
There is no real "right" answer to this.
They are both acceptable for Google.

www is useless, the https protocol is already an indicator you are on the web
