I was ranked in the top 10 for a niche keyword. I accidently did a xrumer blast and left my website under "Homepage" (because I did moodle profile blast which needed it). I blasted a lot of forums with my Web 2.0 backlinks and the profile homepage was still in there. I didn't realize it till there were 79000 profiles made.

My ranked dropped to #30-40, and it stayed there for a few days. Now it's not in the top 100... for alot of the keywords.

Sounds like you definitely forced your site into a dance. Do you have web tools and analytics setup for the site? I believe that is where people receive notifications if they were penalized? Someone else may be able to tell you more about that, as i have never been penalized, but i believe thats where people have said they got notification. Id say dont stress just cross your fingers hopefully it will stop dancing and come back up for you.

I have both and it says "No new notifcations". I've had about 220k backlinks to the website before.. so the 79k is a huge spike.

your site has some age and some backlinks, which may save you now

    1. make sure you do not use any indexing service on those backlinks.
    2. add a couple of new content pages to the site
    3. start getting as many high-quality and anchor diverse backlinks as you can
    4. start some social tagging (likes, +1, twitter) - not a ton, get a small package spread out over the next month

The idea is, as quickly as possible, to make it look like the site is getting a natural spike from something going viral.
-> so a good formula would be to do a press release submission, then add some blog comments, forum posts (no profiles OBVIOUSLY), social bookmarking, etc.
You need to try to balance that quantity with some quality

was the anchor text for your website a keyword or the raw url?

PM me and I can suggest a few services here that will probably help

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

the raw URL will be much less damaging than if it had been a keyword,
I say just keep adding high quality backlinks steadily over the next month and you will be fine

Don't worry man there has been many threads like this, and usually if you keep building you'll come back. Google can only see how many links you build they can't see your computer screen and know whether or not it's manual / automated (SB/ XRumer 7 / etc)

If you build 10k one month build 10k every month and keep it 'natural looking.'

You should be fine because it is the raw URL. It should dance for a little while and then return to its former position. I would do as the others say and create some new content and throw some social at it. Throw some different types of links at it too don't just immediately stop link building. I think someone already mentioned this but don't you dare index those profile links! Don't worry your site will return :)
