And what problem is a discord server going to solve that isn't already covered on here?

It’s perfect for quick commutation. Chat centric discord is more responsive. I recently joined discord to be a part of trading community. Oh man I love the community there. It’s exactly what forum offers but in chat people are more responsive and engaging. It has good bots and mod system to control spam as well.

I don't think DD is going to let the users leave this platform. No one would. Moving your users to an external platform would mean losing control over how you can monetize them.

It will bring BHW engagement to almost zero. At least 70% posts disappear from the forum.

One thing about Discord that isn't as good as the forum is
Leaving timeless information.
Sure, you can pin posts, but what if you have tons of great articles on xyz.
I see Discord as more for a "social" platform.

This is not going to happen, this would deteriorate the engagement rate of the community and leave users susceptible to spam from public members joining the server.

Covering this topic.
Not going to lie a discord would be cool.
But...
Like most people said it'll never happen...
I'm not even sure if I'd want it to,
At least here on BHW they have fair rules set
e.g you have to be pretty well engaged before you can PM the community.
They've done a pretty amazing job..
Discord would probably just turn into a bunch of people spamming and networking, then that would Branch off into smaller groups.
Then the whole thing we just become politics.
I'm just going to stick to reading forms and occasionally engaging.

I'm currently an admin on a big server and would love to work with/help BHW if they ever decide to launch one.
Discord is great for networking and contact, I don't see any harm in it. It's a better place to chat and communicate and opens a lot of opportunities for members that are here.
There ought not to be spam if its moderated correctly, it'll just be a place for people to chat.
