I'm setting up a niche article directory and can't decide whether to allow affiliate links or not. Personally I'm fine with authors using their affiliate links as long as they meet the other terms, however would this be viewed as a weak editorial approach should it ever be manually reviewed?

You're already competing with some big authority article sites so if you don't good luck getting people to submit to ya.

    Yeah good point.

I personally don't see a problem with having affiliate links in articles, I don't know why so many article sites get upset with it.

As long as the author produces a reasonably well written article that isn't just a sales pitch, let them have an affiliate link. They deserve it :) It's just that so many article sites don't allow this, I was wondering if there was any major reason.
