Hey guys, I got one simple Question:

Do I need an Audience on YouTube to start getting views on my Shorts?

I started with 0 Subscriber and posted a few shorts.

The first one got 30 views and the next videos have 0 views.

On TikTok its way easier to get views from scratch

How different is the Shorts algorithm compared to TikTok?

Both platforms have one thing in common.If you make good quality videos, you will start ranking and make good profit. Another parameter, that is given importance at both platforms is if the video is getting lot of shares.
 
Having an existing audience on YouTube can help jumpstart your views, but it's definitely not a requirement. Use trending topics and hashtags, and post consistently.
 
I think so you don't need an audience to get views on YouTube Shorts, but having one can help. TikTok and YouTube Shorts have different methods you know. While TikTok might seem easier to get views from scratch, on YouTube, posting consistently and using relevant tags can help your Shorts get more views over time, even if you're new.

TikTok has more potential because it has blown up in recent past. YouTube has mixed audience including old generation also.
 
They work mostly the same but TikTok will give you more initial views than YouTube

Tiktok has a way more powerful algorithm than youtube shorts, youtube's shorts algorithm is still developing, its going to take a while for it to even reach tiktok's levels and to even beat it, however that should not de-motivate you since, youtube send almost 40-80 billion views for shorts videos, so if your videos are interesting to watch, you should be getting a larger portion of those views compared to otehr creators,

you can also promote your videos by purchasing youtube shorts views and other engagements from good smm panels.

There is much more competition on shorts than tiktok. The overall creators are much more on YT because of their excellent payment structure.
 
First, you need to post only high-quality shorts in order to expect good results. TikTok and shorts algorithms are similar but not the same.

You need to add hashtags for more views

Of course knowing the algorithm will help you get views
 
YouTube has many more shorts created so competition is higher for the same views. However I believr Tik Tok's and YouTube 's algos behave similarly.
 
You don't need an audience on both, YouTube Shorts and TikTok, to get views.
They have a similar algorithm since YouTube tries to imitate the TikTok algorithm which will send you views without having a audience to test your content before it maybe goes viral.

And how is it with Instagram reels? Can you start from 0 followers?
 
Ofc, You will not get any research paper that will disclose how their algo work.
